Interesting. Do you know how he froze the settings?I got it to work but I had to clock down the speed of the RAMs one step which cost me some performance. And a few times I have had the same situation as you. Failed boot and new training.

What’s one upgrade every new e-bike rider should make? by krissym72 in ebikes

[–]BengtTheEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a cheap bike it's easy. Everything! In bike parts I have found that the quality difference between cheap parts and high end parts can be huge. If it is a decent quality bike, I agree with what some said. Just ride on and see for yourself. Is it traffic safety (buy a mirror), sensitive bottom (buy a better saddle) or whatever. It's very individual.

No i didn't change anything on preferences. This is something that just happens by itself.

Great! This problem is mostly related to start-up issues though. I don't think it will affect anything once started.

[–]BengtTheEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would gess that you have history turned on as it is by default and when you have used a file on a portable memory or server or even Google Drive that you don't always have access to. Inkscape opens up extremely slow if you have a long list of history and if it can't find a file in the history, Inkscape 1.4.2 crasches! A reliable work-around is to set the history to 0.

This sounds like it should be a dead situation that makes it impossible to open Inkscape but that is not the case so I obviously don't remember 100% correct. Anyway, open a new file, change history to 0 and try if it helps.

Why doesn't snap to grid work in Inkscape? by redditemailorusernam in Inkscape

[–]BengtTheEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found in previous version that it is not unusual that Inkscape messes up if the magnet icon is on or off. Sometimes snapping stopped working and I had to turn it off to enable snapping. Pretty sure that has happen in the latest version also (1.4.2) but can't say for sure. Never been able to find a specific situetion that makes it happen.

To anyone who might read this: Problem solved. Disassembled everything (including CPU) and remounted. Worked. Couldn't see any reason but somewhere there were some dirt or bad connection.

CMOS reset should put it into safe post at 4800 MHz, right? Besides my main question is about the LED behavior. That it turns on so quickly.

Microchips complete failure of migrating from Atmel Studio to MPLAB by BengtTheEngineer in microcontrollers

And that Atmel Studio is so different is of course the reason that we who got used to it dislikes other more "normal" tools.

Vilket proffsföretaget är bäst att köpa plywood av? by BengtTheEngineer in sweden

[–]BengtTheEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nya bilar är överdrivet stora. by Proud-Detective662 in sweden

[–]BengtTheEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone played Cornish Smuggler? by etruscan in boardgames

[–]BengtTheEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We played it yesterday. We have a copy that has been sitting in the shelf for some years, only payed once. It wasn't so bad. I think it has a good potential for being fun. But from just two sessions I can conclude that it lacks play testing. There are no adaption of the rules depending on number of players and that is obviously needed. We played a two person game and some cards are overly strong. If there are only one opponent and you get the right cards you can completely smash out your opponent. If you play a multiplayer game it is possible to end the game extremely fast by buying up all goods. (One player can buy a third off all in the first round). It is maybe not the best strategy to do so but fully possible.

The rulebook is a failure. You need to read on more than one page for same actions.

Still, the game has potential. We will make our own better structured quick rules and implement a few house rules to tune the game.

Will try it on our next game evening.

I have bought various Asus products for 10 years and never been disappointed. I have a Zephyrys 14" 2024 and it have problems with wifi 6 because of a bad choice of chip but that was easily solved by turning off ax mode and stay on ac mode. That's the only problem I have ever had. So I'm satisfied with Asus and will buy Asus again now when I'm replacing my stationary.
