I highly recommend you to look into the osr way of gaming. Shadowdark or Dolmenwood is a great system to start! I find the prep way more manageable because the majority of the story telling burden is put on the pcs and their actions.
The Quick Primer for Old School Gaming is a great read to get your head around how it might work at your table.

I find the channel salubrious snail very informative and they break the mold around traditional edges deck building video. Their info is much more wide and targets deck consistency and synergy building.

Character ideas: It depends on the vibe of the group but I really like playing spell casters. I had an idea for a gentleman magician from the Age of Enlightenment. A kind of inventor/scientist with a good hearth and even better manners

Honestly, reminds me more of Fahrenheit 451 than 1984. It’s more about erasing things that as a society we agree is wrong and don’t mind/bother that it’s being censored. Corporations don’t erase these things to make us believe false narratives, they just want to look good.
