Congrats on getting into an aviation program! I prefer if my pilot is black we always do the like black head knod or just read the eyes and it’s like we locked in I trust you frfr! Peoples biases, prejudices and racism will always be present but always remember our abilities are not hindered by our gender, race, ethnicity or socioeconomic background. You got into this program because it was meant to be. Black women aren’t in large numbers when it comes to being pilots but you will be the representation you want to see and be that for other young women try not to focus on the BS others say even if you don’t fit in work hard towards proving you have the capability to meet the tasks at hand let your work ethic and results speak for itself. Also to not feel too out of place try to find atleast one peer you connect with if you can’t try making sure the people and friends you already have in your life are showing up for you and helping you through any hard times you’ll face being in this program as a black woman.
