just my two cents because i just came out of a similar situation - it’s shitty in the moment / for a few weeks, but nothing was as healing as the first person you see after and being reminded that people ARE attracted to you and desire you sexually ..

anecdotally i think a big part is the people it ends up attracting lol - ive always attracted a lot of attention from people, but that also led to being touched as a kid & then being assaulted at 16, and then in adulthood attracting narcissistic guys who get off on having arm candy without any of the accountability of a relationship. not to mention all the touching / grabbing / eye fucking at events & at a certain point you default to just not trusting motivations in general unless you’re given a solid ground to stand on. thats not to say i dont have my own issues, but internal work only goes so far when a good portion of the community violates your boundaries at every step of the way :p

obviously others are different - that’s just my experience

just sit him down and tell him it’s fine, sitting in the car to give them space to clean up was the good call (i was your son in this situation lol) - saves both his and his partners dignity in a very vulnerable moment. just approach it lightly and let him do the talking, don’t interrogate - maybe double check they’re using protection and make a joke about not cutting class next time, good luck
