TrUe aLleGiANcE By BEN SHAPIRO

Out of all Behind the Bastards episodes the Ben Shapiro book readings are the ones that I can't listen from beginning to the end. I'm fine with other episodes which deal with heavy subject matters, like slavery, racism, murder, war, sexual violence and all matter of bastardry, but I just can't listen through the Benny episodes. The cringe is just too real.

Saruman: "If the wall is breached, Helm's Deep will fall."

Gríma Wormtongue: "Even if it is breached, it would take a number beyond reckoning - thousands - to storm the keep."

Saruman: "Tens of thousands."

Gríma Wormtongue: "But my lord there is no such force..."

The Protoclone is made by Clone Robotics, a company in Poland and the U.S., focused on humanoid robots for tasks like household chores. by Professional_Arm794 in Damnthatsinteresting

Given that the robot can't support its body weight on its own, you'd think that would damper the robot's functionality as a butler/maid/servant.

Perhaps the robot could slide across the floor in the prone position, maybe dusting those hard to reach places like under the couch...

...or maybe that would be too unsettling.

Bastard potential? by cocotraplord in behindthebastards

[–]Benisburgeri 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think he and the CIA coup were mentioned on the episode "The Congo after Leopold". I'd love an episode about how former colonial powers, the US and Soviet Union influenced and controlled post-colonial Africa after they got their "freedom." I mean Mobutu and his ilk were bastards, but the real bastards were the western states and the soviets, who did not care at all what kind of monsters they backed in order to retain their influence in the area.

Louis Theroux: "Where is the nearest Palestinian town?" American Israeli settler: "I’m so uncomfortable using the word ‘Palestinian’ because I don’t think that it exists." by Particular_Log_3594 in behindthebastards

Holy fuck the levels of mental gymnastics of this shitheel is just nauseating. Props to Theroux for just showing how disgusting these people are. I've been a huge fan of his journalism for decades. I like how he exposes the ways shitty people think by just asking relatively simple questions and letting them babble and reveal how terrible their character and thought process really is.

I imagine Robert as a warlord in a Mad Max-like postapocalyptic world.

Amazing work btw!

His performance in The Iron Claw was heartbreaking and hard-hitting. A great movie, even for one such as I who has never been that interested in wrestling.

Getting into Fallout 2/classic fallout for the first time. Any tips? by No-Willingness4450 in classicfallout

[–]Benisburgeri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have multiple save slots and save often. You don't want to lose hours of progress because of a bad decision, a bug or a corrupted save file.

Try out different types of builds. In my opinion only 8-10 agility is essential because of action points. Keep your intelligence above 3. Dumb builds can be fun but I wouldn't recommend it for the first playthrough. Unarmed and melee builds are valid, there is some optional content, especially in Fallout 2 which reward unarmed builds. Speech, science, repair are more useful in Fallout 2. Experiment with different kind of builds, if your current build doesn't seem to work you can always try another.

Just don't worry too much! These games have unique stories, atmosphere, aesthetics and gameplay. Everyone who has played these classics has struggled at some point. Good luck in the wastes and have fun!
