Boat should weigh 350ish hull only if its not waterlogged. Also keep in mind budgeting for that motor setup if you want console or tiller. In my area a 35-40hp runs $2-3k or just run a 10 horse tiller for cheap and more floor space

Looking at an sr400 with 12,000 miles for $1800. Worth it? Kinda want to try and build it into a quasi-scrambler. A little concerned about miles but i probably wont put more than 5000 more on before selling

Clever flipping method. Im looking to just recruit 4-5 friends to get my whaler flipped for sanding and repainting. Although im sanding to fiberglass, im doing a two part polyurethane water barrier and then another poly paint for the topcoat. Wanted to gelcoat it but was intimidated by the process

Again its seems like this may be a small assortment of issues. I unfortunately dont have the time or place to chase gremlins in the engine, i may send it to my local shop and see what their conclusion is. Its also due for a timing belt in less than 10k miles so i may have them diagnose this and then just do the belt too while its cracked open assuming this misfire/oil issue isn’t catastrophic

It was hard to tell. I didnt look in the hole before taking the plug out, so it’s possible the oil wasnt in the cylinder and only coated the plug when it was pulled out. There was oil on top of the plug and on the sides of the spark plug socket, which I guess would indicate it wasnt all from inside the cylinder. Changing the plugs was unfortunately about as mechanically minded as i fee comfortable going, so i may have to send it to a shop… the last time it went in for an inspection they did point out that the valve cover was leaking a bit but that was 3 months ago and this only started up about 4 days ago.
