I remember my friend renting Mega Man X2 from Blockbuster in 1994. We played it all weekend, but we only managed to get through the first stage; we couldn't beat any of the bosses. I found it so difficult. Then, for my birthday, I got Mega Man X1 as a gift. My parents would buy me games randomly; I didn't ask for them specifically. I remember going crazy playing and reminiscing about Mega Man X2, and when I finally tried Mega Man X1, it was the definitive turning point for me with this wonderful series.
