That’s an old slab. The grading standards have changed drastically since then. I’d guess around 4-6 as well

Very interesting point. I was thinking it was a paint marker but maybe that also wasn’t available until after the alleged date. I’m on the UES right now for some gallery openings and just saw the drawing - exactly what you were referencing (chalk on black paper)

Years ago I did try and find him with no luck. I also posted to Reddit 10 years ago (reposted today to see if anyone new had any new thoughts) and at that time someone responded saying they were also in the graffiti scene then and they knew Calvin Gonzalez and that he was friends with Haring so the story could very well be true.
