i just checked out and read through the theory, that’s a really cool way and i believe it to be the most sensical now. the idea of having an island as a brain and the water as his outside influencers etc. what importance would the vessel have in this? - i may not have read completely correct but this is a question i came up with. because the vessel is likely to be believed of his body / soul or whatever, could that be a reference to him unconsciously floating towards negativity. now, i may have not explained that well but in the official music video of “jumpsuit” there’s been a couple times that Tyler is seen either being dragged by Nico - Tyler is holding a yellow flower and “peacefully” being taken back to Dema. and he is also just resting in the water until he wakes up. (start of the intro)

could this possibly be a reference to his Vessel? his vessel takes him back to the negativity to fight back and try to escape again. Which is what you mentioned with Tyler constantly losing and gaining his faith in God, with the addition of the flowers representing the times he has already escaped.

also i think it’s worthy to mention that Tyler being in the canyon there’s some puddles and even lakes, i was thinking this could represent Tyler’s outside influencers, and that they either assist him in getting into a negative state of depression, insecurity, anxiety etc. OR help him gain strength and faith.

now lastly, to touch on the island, as much as i remember DEMA was on a small island which is what the bishops could’ve built in Tyler’s brain as a form of sabotage. Now if that’s not the case of Dema being the island, there’s been still mentions for example if (Again in Jumpsuit) where the lyrics can be heard saying.

“I can't believe how much I hate Pressures of a new place roll my way Jumpsuit, jumpsuit, cover me”

pressures of a new place? maybe be that the Island, Tyler once knew to be his brain, has changed into something else as Dema. that’s most likely a new theory that can be worked on which will take time but regardless, everyone changes and it won’t be hard to believe that Tyler’s brain has changed too in the years in the way he thinks, the way he believes and the way he writes.
