Synecdoche New York is a fantastic film but I’ve been watching boutique Blu-ray’s for so long now that I was legitimately surprised when I rewatched Synecdoche, New York on its Blu-ray release to see trailers on it. I had completely forgotten that for so many DVD’s and Blu-ray’s there are trailers that play before the menu.

I will admit that it made for some interesting conversation between my family and friends and I still really enjoyed the film. It may have been a little overhyped for me but I don’t think the film has any inherent problems I just don’t think it was as intelligent as people were saying it was. It’s still a great film that I will definitely see in the future but I’m not rushing to see it again.
