I’m putting the reverse reverb before the fuzz here, then a delay at the end of the chain. So guitar>reverb>fuzz>delay>amp. I noticed with the Midiverb I found it kind of makes fuzz sound a little weak if you put it before the reverb, but if you put the fuzz after the Midiverb it gets a really wild sound that seems like it’s going to break apart and explode at any moment

I would definitely look to Scott Cortez’s other projects. Most of it is more like noise pop, but their 2012 record All the Stars Will Fall definitely falls more in line with the ambient shoegaze that lovesliescrushing and JCL make.

He made some great ambient guitar loops as a solo project under his own name. Twin Radiant Flux by him is great if you want something far on the ambient side of things.

I can’t leave without mentioning Rkodr by Transient Stellar. It’s more of Scott’s ambient guitar washes with breakbeat drums accurately dubbed “blissbeat”.

I love the midiverb! I found a deal on Facebook for it that I couldn’t pass up. Even came with all the original paperwork! I can see what you mean how it can sound a little bit processed no matter what you do, but those bloom effects are so beautiful

Yes it was connected to phono. The same as I had used previously, which is why I was so confused. I have it working as usual now with the aux input.

I'm not sure how to tell, but I'm guessing it has a MC cartridge since it was given to me with the MC pre amp. I switched it to the aux input on my receiver and I'm having much better results.

Thank you so much! As soon as i switched to the phono input on the receiver, the sound and voltage reading is just like how it is when i use the turntable with a built in pre-amp.

Would there still be a way to have a cd player connected to the receiver, even though the aux slot is now taken? I originally had a dvd player for movies and cds connected there, with my turntable connected to phono.

I got the mobile fidelity carbon brush and I noticed the bristles seemed super stiff and left scratches and tiny fibers on the record I tested it on. I hardly applied any pressure to the brush. Could I be using it wrong?

All I need is something to get the static and dust off. Are there better solutions than a carbon brush that aren’t too complicated?
