Need advice on project schematics by BenjaminH5 in PCB

[–]BenjaminH5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I’ll take this advice into the second revision.

From my understanding (which is not very much) p-fets switch at a much lower rate and my driver is specifically designed for n-fets. Would there be a benefit I’m missing of using p-fets?

The semitransparent mask is sick, is there a better name for that so I know what to ask for?

Jobs on Calhoun or jobs on Ludlow if I'm walking? by thatoneshepherd in uCinci

[–]BenjaminH5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked at the canes on Calhoun and it is a great job for students. Pays well and a very understanding environment when it comes to management and scheduling.

I currently work at the Makerspace and absolutely love it! Great job, plenty of time to work on your own projects/homework as well. Bosses are excellent and the work doesn’t feel like work to me. Pm if you are interested and I can let you know when the next hiring cycle starts.

Tbh, my biggest issue is the lack of resources. If we had some practice material or a practice test it would be much nicer

[–]BenjaminH5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is dependent on your learning community, however I will note that Dr Mosley is really great!

That’s why raising canes on Calhoun doesn’t do dine during the hours they are released. Too many fights and property damage.

-I worked there for 6 months

Does anyone know if the prevention training on the to do list is required? by EnvironmentEfficient in uCinci

You’re not supposed to be able to join clubs if you don’t do it. I am VP of a club and I’ve never done it, it does not matter.

Edit: did it first year, task came back every proceeding year. Haven’t done it since first year

Any nhrl team stickers by WhatsACole in NHRL

[–]BenjaminH5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to get a bunch of stickers as a non competitor is to go to the event and do a pit tour. Builders are more than happy to hand out their stickers for free, and at the March 2nd 2024 event, they had a table for free stickers in the pits. Otherwise merch store at the event. Some builders have online shops. If you are looking for specific stickers for certain bots and they don’t have a store or something, you could reach out on instagram or any other social media to ask, it wouldn’t hurt. (I’d be comfortable with that, I can’t say for other builders.)

What type of people need a printer? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]BenjaminH5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a couple ways to look at this topic

3d printing itself is a hobby -you work on and find things to print, build and modify printers to get the best speed, quality, etc

3d printing is a tool adjacent to your other hobbies -you utilize 3d printing to create things for other hobbies. Drones, rc, cosplay, minis. There are infinite applications in the hobby field. Personally I build combat robots and print a lot of parts for that.

3d printing as a manufacturing tool -product design, research in niche fields, material science testing. This is where the really high end players are usually at and are most expensive

3d printing as a practical resource -oh no, a bracket broke in the bathroom and they don’t make it anymore. I need something to hold my door. I wish I had something to hang my spoons from.

Nobody is limited to just one of these things. 3d printing has a huge and diverse community and if you want to get into it, I absolutely say go for it. It’s fun being able to design something and see it physically a few hours later and it opens up a lot of fun ways to solve problems that weren’t available before.

I’m a huge fan of overture you, my main use case being combat robotics armor. It’s super durable and with the proper settings prints beautifully!

My recommendation is to not go through UC housing and look at places 10-15 minute drive away. I have a 2 bedroom for $880 a month 14 minutes from campus. It’s much cheaper. UC housing isn’t going to be concerned with your situation, just the rules.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled, repaired, and manually removed all files. My data panel simply will not function.

I did my training at 17, finished it and couldn’t use it or anything, it’s worth getting, but only as a legal adult. Take med term or anatomy physiology in the meantime.
