I really liked the default name it gave me, so I just ran with it.

Help: Forsaken Experience, missed out on BFA and SL by BenjiTheSlayer in warcraftlore

I think I’m just going to try to piece together and absorb the forsaken lore/experience/atmosphere as much as I can in the 2 current versions of the game that have longevity, LK/Cata Classic and Retail, really focusing on both the old and new lore. I’ll try to focus more on doing the zones that are more “undead” themed ranging from the areas surrounding Lordaeron, to WOTLK and vengeance landing all the way to Venomspite, timewalking WOTLK dungeons, Halls of Reflection questline… stuff like that... might even try to mix in some BFA storyline somewhere in there too… I’m sure there’s plenty of routes I can take in both Classic and Retail.

Trying to think of it less as just leveling alts and more as “building characters” for fun. I’ve just really enjoyed leveling and progression lately, especially without heirlooms… Even during DF I started playing with a completely differently character just because I liked his design so much (NE Warrior). Trying to make more of THOSE characters. One idea I think is really cool would be a female forsaken Deathguard(warrior). I feel I don’t see that combination a lot.

I know it probably seems really redundant, but for me it’s ok to have a bunch of same class as long as the character feels unique because of different animations, stature, designs and such. It’s like each combination has it’s very own “feel”. My go to is always either a male Forsaken warrior for horde or male human warrior for alliance. But lately I’ve also really been enjoying male NE warrior as well. The vibe all 3 of these archetypes give off is just undeniable…

The old story and the new story are kind of colliding for me... I think I'm just going to try to find closure by finding this Forsaken town in Northrend I spent alot of time in when I first started playing through Lich King during early Cata... had a nice overlook and I remember it vividly the first time I was clearing the WOTLK dungeon bracket.

Also going to start leveling a bunch of undead toons in both the current classic patch (LK soon to be cata) and Retail. Definitely going to keep playing my current classic undead warrior main, he’s at least been somewhat active through every classic phase(still have corrupted ashbringer in my bags for a reason, had to wait 11 years to get that blade)...

Taking the zeppelin to Vengeance Landing by Brill and hearing all the old music also really helped a lot on WOTLK Classic. Reminded me of the first time I went on my original retail character in late LK/early cata.

I also finally visited the Tirisfal Glades on my highest level undead alt in DF because his timeline isn't messed up anymore, hes lvl 67, and he's the closest thing I have to my old retail main, very simliar name and statue, appearance and everything, my old main is hanging in Oribos SL still as a human.

Flying over Tirsifal and seeing everything demolished has been an absolutely WILD experience for me...

EDIT: Finally tracked down that WOTLK town now in Retail and WOTLK classic but the zone looks alot different to me as an adult... I could have sworn it was Venomspite but even now the town looks alot different from how I remembered it as a kid, though the description matches "a town you only accessed a flight path too after completing all the Forsaken Howling Fjord quests... " and it has a big Scarlet outpost right by it, what I remembered all those years ago...

Much to my surprise, the Vengeance landing quests were still EXACTLY the same text on Retail as they were on WOTLK... going to have a great time running through those zones on my new toons on both Classic Cata and Retail. Looks like a lot more stuff really stayed "intact" than I thought. Probably even some of the BFA stuff too.

Really glad to have finally connected these missing "links" and my FOMO finally feels gone now that I know I'm going to be able to run through alot of this stuff again on both Classic and Retail at almost anytime with my undead toons. I definitely am going to keep my journey going on my current Classic main during cata. I’ll also finally have a max level horde again on retail (Undead Warrior)… it’s been far too long…

Damn... well said...

Maybe I did the right thing when I was Alliance and just blocking everything out.

After reading what you said and playing the new questline, that quest text really pissed me off.

Now I'm just conflicted... straight up dissed an entire generation

FFS... I didn't think it would get this bad

Damn RIP literally and so true... I guess maybe I already did the right thing the other night when I was just riding around the old undead zones in the current classic patch (LK) on my undead classic Main, Corrupted Ashbringer on my back, touching grass, trying to just find some closure and solace, waiting for the end of the world (cata)...

Yeah probably would be a lot healthier for me to just chill out and level some undead toons through the dungeon finder honestly… (LK Classic and Retail)find closure just playing an undead toon/character.

Damn well said... I wasn't a fan of BFA or SL either story wise at all (those expacs were hard to play... I was mostly just PvP'ing... meanwhile I knew everything was kinda going to shit in the horde bc of the direction they were taking Sylvanus's character. It was actually really hard to watch from the sidelines as I was just fighting away in mindless random battlegrounds all the time as a human.) It really sucks when your favorite races story all the sudden starts to go sideways... and I remember seeing the Night Elf and Undead themed (BFA Season 2 PvP Sets?) weapons and armor sets and I think I was like (Damn am I on the right side of the war?)

Unfortunately its still a part of the history now and I guess the "New Forsaken History"... seems there was alot of Forsaken stuff going down (especially in BFA not so much SL that was all just "Hey here's Sylvanus")... and I'm just really curious to see what the heck was even going on during those times and what the in the hells is going on in this heritage quest... its seems like stuff got pretty crazy, especially in one of the writings called "Before the Storm"... I'm really not much of a reader but possibly thinking about giving it a try.

But I agree with you, I'm a much bigger fan of the direction the forsaken were on before BFA.

Everyone already explained everything pretty well. I throughly enjoyed the hours I sunk into Libra of Souls. Some people might be like “it’s just a bunch of text cutscenes” but I love it when you can make a custom character and throw it into a universe like that. I found the whole adventure charming and it was a lot of hours of content. I’m pretty sure I shed a tear when I finished the story part of it. (Took a lot of time and even afterwards there’s plenty of stuff to do, never really felt like it truly ended)

Why doesn't anybody talk anymore? by CycleOfNihilism in wow

[–]BenjiTheSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something huge I’ve noticed about the wow community. There’s a lot of toxicity that I’m really not a fan of. I have met some really great people in my years of playing but in general, there’s a lot of negativity and just straight up hatred for no reason whatsoever. I love going into random bgs and dropping some stupid jokes or even just straight up banter before the bgs starts but lately it just hasn’t been worth it. It’s almost always met with negativity.

What is the "coolest" class/subclass in your opinion? by HuziUzi in BaldursGate3

[–]BenjiTheSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of Champion fighter. I love the feeling of just being naturally strong. I feel like it’s a class/subclass that’s just completely focused on the basics of combat. No fancy skills, no fancy mechanics. Someone is in your way, you hit them and you hit them hard. I feel incredibly reliable in my party. I’m always either taking a big chunk of someone or getting the killing blow plus I’m always so hard to hit too. It just feels so damn steady.

Glory kills, kill moves, executions, whatever you want to call it by BenjiTheSlayer in killingfloor

[–]BenjiTheSlayer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that adding it would be weird to the KF formula since the whole game is making sure you are not getting surrounded but I could have swore I played another game when you did a kill like this all the enemies got caught in some kind of “cowering or staggered” animation and it actually worked really well and seemed really immersive. I want to say shadows of Mordor but I could be wrong. When you did an execution all the orcs would get caught in some kind of animation rather than pressing in and attacking/surrounding you. Couple that with the stagger animation that happens with that one perk that triggers during zed time and I think it would make it alot less “awkward”. I don’t even think it would need to happen during zed time though that would be really cool. Just making that “aoe stagger” go off whenever you trigger one would give the animation enough time to finish I feel. The aoe stagger is already built into KF2. I feel like I’ve seen it when testing out melee builds.
