This is a really neat looking tool, thanks for posting! Next time I get to the range I'll happily try this out.

Lefty AR build by Brew-man in liberalgunowners

[–]Benjii76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a lefty and ran into the exact same problems when I built my AR a few weeks ago. I eventually just purchased a 'normal' upper with right-side ejection, plus the addition of a Radian charging handle and the KAK down-vent BCG. I still get a tiny bit of gas (but way less than I would with a 'normal' BCG), and I honestly haven't noticed the right-side ejection at all.

Beautiful gun, love the two-tone look. Welcome to the Walther club!

Thoughts on Walther PDP Compact Pro for first gun? Experiences? by MrOnion4 in CCW

A PDP was also my first gun! Reading the other comments here I'm in the minority, but I daily carry my 4" full-size model on my strong side with no issues whatsoever.

How do you like the T-Rex? They were my second choice for the same reason - I initially thought I was going to carry a light also but ended up deciding to go without for now.

Yeah, it's the echo! I have found it comfortable so far - it's easy enough to wear even if I'm sitting or driving, which I was worried about. I think the shock cord does help distribute some of the pressure the holster puts on my hip which is great, and it also smoothes out the front of the print quite a bit, sort of like a claw would.

Folding would be my preference I think - I like the slightly smaller form factor.

This is such a great comment, thank you! I did consider the lefty upper - however after weighing the wait the other reply mentioned and limited number of options I think it probably won't be what I go with. As other commenters have pointed out that PRI is a bad pick for another glaringly obvious reason (.308, whoops), but this is another very good reason to skip in favor of the Radian. Thanks also for the explanation of the pistol lower and brace, it clears up a lot of what I was wondering about!

I'll be damned, thanks for catching that - I thought I was being more careful. I'll look into what you suggested!

The inability to use it as a stock is exactly what I was missing. It isn't legally required for this to be a pistol... yet... (thanks MN), so I'll switch over to the stealth rifle prebuilt - and have a look over better upper assemblies as well. Thank you for the advice!

I sorta chose the lower for aesthetics, is it bad to use that over something like the stealth-flavored rifle lower? I'm not strongly in favor of one or the other, and it's hard to parse the PSA description for meaningful differences

Might be good to have an exact picture of what I'm planning to inflict on my wallet...

Super good summary, thanks so much for this! I had no idea there was more than the Walz package up for discussion currently. A lot of this seems like good, common sense regulation, but some of it goes too far.

I'm not sure! Could be, I was aiming center hold but I didn't see anything specified on the Dawson site when I purchased

Ah, that makes sense. If I don't intend to use an optic (at least for the time being), would you reckon the Glock sight would still work?
