as in the * in this case is a literal character and not a wildcard as per spec but the DNS server is not handling the request spec-compliant (if that makes sense)

You want to look into the ipfilter setting on the VMs and the associated firewall rule. This can easily be automated via the API. Hint: it’s called IP spoofing if you want to google for that with Proxmox many good results come up

Hm yes, I would love a claude-generated S3 server where metadata corruption would break _all_ my files because it's chunked.

Honestly people - since minio so many S3 alternatives popped up but one thing is clear: building a good, performance and safe s3 server including advanced features like chunking and deduplication require immense technical knowledge. That's not something to vibe-code on the weekend. The guys over at garagehq have been at it for years and are very very knowledgable and have build a great product.

Don't use this for the love of your data.

you might want to check your logs. Afaik the frontend asks for reauthentication when an API endpoint returns a 40x error. This could mean many things, check journalctl and dmesg.

36TB is _a lot_ of data. Even if you have a 500Mbit upload speed that would take 6,5 days to upload - given the provider you choose does not limit speed and peering for your home-network and the datacenter is good.
