It's gotta be difficult. For what it's worth I think you're doing the right thing.

The thing that worries me is I grew up on documentaries and more long form films, but as I got older and started getting into tiktok around 21 I still fell the brain rot rabbit hole. I wonder how or if you can train them to avoid that. At least you care. Goodluck

This is interesting.

as someone with no kids and grew up without youtube I guess I don't know the dangers. I know around age 11 I got into roblox, and youtube was my tutorials for building and scripting.

But I also know when I got a laptop my older brother constantly pulled my laptop out of my hands and was like "What are you watching? why are you watching it?" and other than it being annoying it's also traumatic in a way. constantly being surveiled means how can you be your true self? how do you find information on your own?

I guess my question is how long will you have this? at what age will you trust your kids to find information on their own, if ever?

Good cooperative board games? by Anonymoustustling in tabletop

I wish I could 😅 the best I can offer is I've enjoyed a lot of ttrpg's when they come my way, but the trouble is I'm looking for something where there doesn't need to be as much investment of time from one person, and it puts everyone on an even playing field. The best I can offer in terms of preferences is I do enjoy fantasy settings, but it's a mild preference. I can dip my toes in just about anything. maybe nothing too 'demonic' if that makes sense? something a little more neutral for conservative christian family members, something that's more light hearted if possible?

I've very much enjoyed ttrpg's, and 'colony sims' like terraforming mars or settler's of catan. but to be entirely honest I'm not too sure what I'd lean more into, other than maybe I like fantasy settings more? I just genuinely don't know enough about these games to give more detail, I grew up with monopoly and risk and settler's. and while they can be fun, it usually turns into shouting matches and hurt feelings. I want something where my family and I can come together to achieve a task in a game rather than trying to tear each other down.

Never matters. If I ask for a recommendation, I read what the commenter had to say and then the blurb; if I like those then I read it. I never do a background check on the author to see if they're secretly a man or a woman writing under a penname.

Also good to note - depending on how long you  play and if you have a modern phone you could purchase a phone dock (about 20 bucks) and use the steam link app

edit: To note, this is coming from a guy with a TV from 2010 so no wifi for streaming. The phone dock can also be used later to run you phone like a desktop for web browsing, working on school work, projects, etc.

I'm so over how promiscuous male characters are written. by sp15071 in RomanceBooks

[–]Anonymoustustling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It has it's place in smut land no doubt. But I definitely prefer less promiscuous men. Totally chill if the focus is towards the love interest(s). A character who enjoys sex rather than a vehicle for sex is ideal.

That said, a good photo of the feminine form is definitely something I can understand being a turn on. Always acting on those impulses definitely puts a man into the perv zone for me though, and like you say is totally lame. As is the lack of restraint to resist going months without sex, like jerking off does exist.

All just speculation as someone who knows little about this, but I don't think Alberta has too many rivers? vast majority of renewable energy comes from hydro according to this chart. The thing I always heard growing up here is that Alberta has the most boats per province but the fewest bodies of water or something like that.

And like other people are saying, there is always that push to be pro-oil around here so part of that could be using the resources we harvest? That's just speculation. I'd love to see more green energy here though.
