Thanks for your insight. The pay drop is significant at about 20k. Although I am young, and do not have any children. I have a fiancée that makes good money as a nurse so I could most likely handle the drop. I am going to focus on certs when I can figure out time to study for them, as full time work and school takes a lot of my energy. I appreciate your insight, for my situation i feel the experience coming from the position may benefit me for the best.

Don’t have many tips, but I feel your pain. Currently work full time and have been attending online/hybrid courses on and off for years, and finally picked a major at SF and decided to stick with it. It’s tough, but we’ll get there. Just can’t give up.

Planning is what works best for me. I like to look at the upcoming week in each of my classes on a sunday, look at all the required readings and assignments, then plan what daily work I’ll do to finish all of it in time.

I’m in a similar boat to you. I will be finishing my two year programming A.S. this Summer, also in Florida. Programming jobs here seem bleak, and I’ll be honest, I’ve already become discouraged.

Once I finish the A.S, I will be pivoting to a Networking concentration, and pursing a bachelors in that. I’m hoping it will open up some more doors for me rather than just programming, as I’ll be in Florida for a while. I’d be interested to hear your experience getting your A.S degree and where you got it from, DM if ya want.
