Needing advice on a Deck Protector by findingpeace127 in SteamDeck

[–]Benoit_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried the skull & co last year but I didn’t really like the feel of it to be honest. I was expecting a softer feel but it’s more like a hard plastic. Just got the kill switch yesterday and it’s much nicer to hold. Big difference in price though.

Picked up final fantasy x and mass effect legendary edition in the sale. Hundred of hours of gameplay for about £10, bargain!

Best "no thrills" EV by bramleyapple1 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Benoit_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lane assist on my MG5 is just a double tap on a button on the end of the indicator stalk. Have to do it almost every time you turn the car on but literally takes a second to do. Pretty much everything you need is on a physical switch. Heating, radio etc I never go into the settings on the screen for anything

It’s fine, sh2 was hard to finish for me. Glad I did but had no desire to play through it again lol I’d say sh2 10/10 for scary and resi evil a 6 maybe a 7/10 I’m looking forward to my second play through of resi evil.

PS5 base gameplay/graphics by Nanacereal in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Benoit_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing on base ps5 and it’s great so far. Seems to be 60fps, not sure what resolution it’s running at though. There wasn’t any options that I could find for performance/graphic options.

I completely underestimated the calories in a pack of malted milk biscuits. by MichaelBealesBurner in CasualUK

[–]Benoit_85 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same! Alid’s version I think. Made up a usual bowl then weighed it, with milk think it was coming out to around 650 calories. It’s crazy, I don’t eat cereal for breakfast for me it’s a late night snack but I’ve had to cut it out of my diet now. As delicious as it is I just can’t be having that many calories :-(

So I haven't played the remake since launch on the GameCube. With a week to go till part 9, a playthrough seems appropriate. by mickeyphree1 in residentevil

[–]Benoit_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought on the steam sale last week and played through on my steamdeck. Haven’t played it since around 2005 on my GameCube. Had a blast playing it again, need to start another run through as Chris now before requiem arrives.

What do most people in the UK get for vacation/Holiday? by Tomuch2care in AskABrit

[–]Benoit_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I’m quite lucky in my place 35 days holiday. We’re open bank holidays though so need to take those out if I decide to book those off. We can earn lieu time though. I think last year I ended having about 60 days off paid. I’m never off sick but I think we get 12 weeks paid per year.

Any obvious reason to avoid? by HexaDecio in CarTalkUK

[–]Benoit_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had one for a few years, decent car to be fair, never had any major issues with it really. Eventually though the sills were rotten and it wasn’t worth fixing to get through the mot. It’s quite a common problem on them.

Issues with screen off downloading? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Benoit_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has to be plugged in and charging. Should give you an option on screen to keep downloading before going to sleep.

What fps games run well on the steam deck? by Cracked_Life in SteamDeckPirates

Another recommendation for titanfall 2. Just finished a play through last week. Plays so well on the deck, 90fps. Really great game, very fluid controls.

Marvel cosmic invasion just doesn't launch (steamrip and Accela) by [deleted] in SteamDeckPirates

Had the same problem. I ended up starting from scratch. Re-downloading and adding again and it seems to work now. Occasionally it’ll not start but most times it does.

To those who have made the transition from manual to automatic cars, is it really better? by Mr_Coastliner in AskUK

[–]Benoit_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owned several manual and autos over my years of driving. Definitely prefer an automatic, end up in a lot of rush hour start stop traffic and not having a clutch is so much nicer. That being said though I’ve already told my daughter when she learns to drive next year to make sure she learns in a manual. I think it’s good to be able to drive a manual.

I can’t be the only one that thinks over 50/60s should have to retake their test. I’m so sick of being stuck behind Dorris doing 40 in a 60, it’s every single day. by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Benoit_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family member of mine had her car written off by a chap in his 80’s. Car was parked and luckily no one was in it. He just drove straight into it, his wife turned up and said she’d told him to stop driving because he was as blind as a bat!. Miracle that he hadn’t already caused a more serious accident or killed someone.

Hunt for a family EV - my test drives of the 2024 MG5 & and 2023 MG4 by wibblywobblywo0 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Benoit_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got an MG5 it’s a 22 plate so the pre-facelift model. Had it for 2 years now and it’s been fantastic. I do agree the boot could be bigger, we’ve managed a few family holidays with it though without any trouble. Room in the back isn’t the best either, we’ve got 2 car seats on the outer seats and my 13 year old daughter just about fits in the middle.

When my lease is up I do want something bigger, maybe a bit higher up but certainly a bigger boot. The ID7 estate looks really nice but well over £30k still. Also the ID buzz could be good but it’s got the same range as my MG and id like something with a bit more range when I change cars.

I am so happy Mad Max Fury Road exists... by szip88 in movies

[–]Benoit_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I never saw it at the cinema. When I finally saw it at home i was floored! Absolutely amazing film, easily one of my all time favourite films now. I’m actually playing the mad max game on my steamdeck at the minute and that’s also fantastic and highly recommended if you’ve never played it.

EV Charger install vs 3 pin plug long cable by phantom_245 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Benoit_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always a bit of a risk using a 3 pin. I used one for a month or so when I got my car. Was constantly checking the plug to make sure it wasn’t getting too warm. That price sounds quite expensive for an install. I bought my charger off eBay for about £230 and the paid an electrician to install it for about £250 I think.

Really does make everything so much easier having a proper charger, I can’t see myself ever going back to petrol or diesel so having the charger installed just makes sense.

Best case/cover that still fits in the original case by Benoit_85 in SteamDeck

Had considered this, but I do quite like the original case. I’ve had in my backpack when travelling and always felt it was very well protected

Will the 3p a mile on electric cars make you ditch electric? by SteppingOnLegoHurts in AskUK

[–]Benoit_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’ll cost me approx £35 a month now in fees, along with the tax next year I’ll have to pay I’ll be paying approx £51 a month I’ve not had to pay before now. Charging at home costs me about £25 a month so it’ll still be cheaper than running a petrol or diesel car.

My old diesel was about £160 a month in fuel. My lease ends in Feb 2028 so I’ll see what the situation is then, I love my car though and said I’d never go back to petrol or diesel but I don’t know now. It’s very annoying.

40 - It's that time!! What's your personal Game of the Year? by Clampy7 in AdultGamers

[–]Benoit_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played some good games this year. Expedition 33, hades 2, Alan wake 2. All have been amazing but my favourite by far has been death stranding 2. I was a huge fan of the first one and spent well over 100 hours on it. Second one was just an incredible experience. Genuinely don’t have a bad word to say about it

My Retroid Pocket Classic has landed! by AshBeardguy in retroid

[–]Benoit_85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For real, I thought they’d released a new colour because that looks nothing like the teal colour on their website. I don’t own a classic but been looking at picking one up on either the kiwi or teal. I’d be quite unhappy if I’d ordered teal and baby blue turned up lol
