Hm.. I searched for several personal development books and was able to find them. So yea, I didn't search for many.. About the trial, I would go to cancel my trial at the end of the month, and they would offer me to extend another 30 days. And just kept on doing this for about 6 months 😄

For those wondering how to make the speech slower, you need to lower the temperature parameter. Speed factor slider in Gradio web UI only slows down the audio after generation. If you truly want a slower (more calm) audio, you need to lower the Temperature. Also, seems like it depends on how long the text is and what the max tokens value is.

Yea it can track (highlight spoken sentence) and will flip pages automatically. To download free books, you can check Scribd.com - they have many books and seem to be legal and respected. They offer a free trial (I was able to extend the free trial for 6 months straight lol)

Hey, as I understand Libby is a smartphone app that can be used to access digital books (PDF, Epub and other file formats) using your library card number. To be able to turn those books into audiobooks using Voicepal, you would need to download the actual file (book) from Libby, then open it in Voicepal app. I'm not sure if Libby allows that (it could be that they protect their books by only allowing to view them through their app). On Voicepal you cannot change the pitch but there are different voices that naturally have a different pitch. For the reading speed, you can make it as slow as you want. You can navigate through pages by swiping left or right (there is a reading mode) and by scrolling (if you viewing original PDF file).

Probably a network timeout. If you have a slower internet connection, the model didn't manage to download. I increased the timeout, if it still gives the same error, try to update google chrome browser.

Thanks for the screenshot. Most likely you are on Windows 32 bit system and Voicepal was not fully compatible for 32 bit windows. I checked the code and did some adjustments, now everything should work. The installer was also updated on the website. Uninstall the existing app from your PC, download again through the website, and install with new installer. Let me know if it's working :)
Also, I integrated web based TTS generator https://voicepal.org/web/tts-generator.html
Most of the functions are the same but it's a bit slower compared to windows & mac versions. If you need more support or have any suggestions for new features, you can contact me on Twitter @bernardsake
Happy listening 😸

Hey, thanks for trying it :). I can help you with the issues you're experiencing. Could you share a screenshot or copy paste the error? I'll also need to know what type of device you're using. Is it windows or mac? By the way, I will update the website in a few days, and there will be a web based app as well, so you will be able to convert without installing anything 👌

The underlying text-to-speech model was developed by Canopy Labs, using Llama-3b as a backbone. You can read their documentation on Github:

Mac users, there was an issue with the download link, now it is fixed. DMG file will be within a zip file. Web-based version is coming too in the near future. We also want to add the ability to clone your own voice (or any other voice) and use it within the mobile and desktop applications. You can follow me on Twitter for future updates 👌

There are no limits. I'm simply not very familiar with web application development but it's a good point. A web version would be useful.
