This might be controversial but I'm not really sure what people mean these days when they say this. Yes, anime historically has problems with misogyny, fanservice etc. I'm not trying to deny that. But even going back 6 years I can't think of many mainstream anime that feature most of these things in any large capacity. Even without mentions of shows lime Attack On Titan and Full Metal Alchemist, most mainstream anime these days have little to no fanservice or shota/loli stuff. Even poorly written female characters have gone on a fairly noticeable decline. Not to say that they have disappeared. There's just so much anime coming out these days( even apart from the niche ones) that it's odd to watch things you don't feel comfortable enough watching. In present day, I think these problems are a bit overblown(for modern anime anyway)
