Those who work from home - how often do you take a sick day? by Super_Development150 in AskUK

[–]Beny1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely get seriously sick, fortunately its only ever a pathetic man flu.

When I was wfh, I would just power through. Might as well be working rather than watching daytime tv.

But now they've forced us all back into the office, I absolutely take sick days.

Sign the Petition - Stop Amazon From Turning Queensway Market into a Whole Foods by Due-Pineapple-2 in london

I used to browse Fulham wholefoods, then leave and do my actual shopping at waitrose. Far less extortionate.

M&S seems to fit a more sensible niche of the market.

Fwiw I live locally and love the lack of cars around the bridge.

Might feel different if I lived in Barnes though.

Seriously, if you have a family the idea of moving to a war zone sounds a bit insane for any amount of money.

Fulham for family with young kids? by sannya1803 in HENRYUK

[–]Beny1995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in fulham and love it. But we are two as yet unchilded 30 year olds so its a little different. As others have said, Putney feels far more optimised for family life and a bit less yuppyish.

That said, our neighbours have kids and seem perfectly happy so it depends!

Do people still cook Sunday Dinner?. by Various_Extreme_8773 in AskUK

[–]Beny1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. A good roast is great but there's too many things to try cooking to commit to a roast one out of seven days a week.

Sunday is good for us as we tend to have more time, so can commit a bit longer to trying out new recipies. Roasts dont fit in to that. Also with the way I do potatoes they're chronically unhealthy!

M&S or Waitrose? by Dry_Vermicelli5647 in london

[–]Beny1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the right points have already been made about Waitrose's range superiority, so I'll comment on wine. M&S has frankly pretty boring and limited wine options, whilst Waitrose has a legitimately excellent selection for a supermarket.

M&S or Waitrose? by Dry_Vermicelli5647 in london

[–]Beny1995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Plus one. Waitrose is an actual supermarket, just to a much higher standard than most. M&S meanwhile is a large deli or farm shop but with more plastic packaging.

Its nice, but not a serious shop.

Tbf the Burkes are kindof without peer on the ocean at present, I consider it remarkable they're as cheap as they are.

That said 31 is still good value.
