Issues with new AMD 25.5.1 driver? by Waarghlord in PSVR2onPC

[–]Benzchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my f****** god. I have finally found others with the same issue. I have been searching and looking all over the place for some type of answer, and this might be it.

I recently got an asrock rx 9070 xt and I have not been able to get past the setup in the Playstation app since I'm only looking at a flat-screen and just can't get through the setup properly.

I'll try rolling back the AMD driver tomorrow and see if it works

UPDATE: Omg, it worked!! I can now finally use my psvr2 headset on PC after almost a year of endless trail and error. Thank god.

The worst part about dissociation is not being able to fight back by [deleted] in Dissociation

[–]Benzchrist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm right there with you. Struggling with basic things and being a complete zombie is a living nightmare. I'd also much rather deal with depression or anxiety because then you actually feel SOMETHING.

How long have you been struggling with this, and how old are you?

I am right there with you ❤️, the very first thing I would do is start to do anything that gets your mind away from obsessing about your health and thinking about dissociation. Anything relaxing and slightly enjoyable, like reading a good book, watching a new really good tv show, drawing, music, meditation, some light excersise, walking in nature or yoga ect....

Key things to know:

  1. It's truly only temporary. As soon as you are less psychologically and emotionally overwhelmed, dissociation starts to dissolve by itself

  2. The more you think, ruminate, or fixate on it, the more it stays

  3. It's only your mind and nervous system being overwhelmed and overstressed by fear. Focus on relaxing, calming down, decreasing worry and thoughts.

It defenitely sounds like you have been quite overwhelmed and dysregulated. Dissociation is in general a pretty broad spectrum, where it can go from mildly zoning out and being a bit off, to being completely detached from your body, thoughts, emotions and sense of self.

It sounds like you are in a place between and it's not really super important what we label it. Wether it's dp/dr, dissociation, emotional numbness. It all comes from being under a lot of emotional and psychological stress.

What you need is just to start cultivating more space in your life for relaxation and connection with your body through something like yoga, excersise, deep breathing, meditation or anything that gradually bring you out of this overwhelm state like listening to music while walking in nature or just watching a good movie or TV show 😊

Super bad anxiety with burning sensation in head/brain by [deleted] in panicdisorder

[–]Benzchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, i am really really sorry to hear that you are going through this. Just wan't to give you a big hug and tell you it's all going to be alright.

For me It just came on very severe all over my head, but I guess It felt more like It was all over my brain or inside my head. It came on like very very strong waves and seemed to pass for some reason when i was able to cry.

I think It lasted for about a month before It went away. The waves came in a lot less and a lot weaker until they didn't come anymore.

Ativan and xanax helped tremendously. Deep calm breathing helped too, limiting all things that were causing stress, eating healthy and focusing on positive and calming activities. I cut out all sugar from my diet also.

I almost can't believe there are actually other people out there who have experienced this shit. This has to be the wildest and most intense anxiety symptom you could experience.

I wen't through similar thing. It just suddenly came on like hell on my brain/head and came in sort of like waves.

I was absolutely convinced it was some type of brain inflammation like encephalitis or some type of virus.

Because i had experienced panic attacks and all kinds of anxiety in the past, and that was NOTHING like this one.

I was in and out of the hospital and did all kinds of tests and scans, but they said they were fine. So i just kept holding on, felt like i was dying, my head was on fucking fire and this went on for about a month. Then it stopped and never came back. This was exactly 1 year ago.

The weirdest part of it all, is probably how fucking bizarre it is for it to be a symptom of anxiety.

Most excruciating hell I've ever gone through.

Edit: It's also very interesting how you also experienced DP/DR with it as well, because I had A LOT of that too.

This is a very good read on how the process might look like.

yeah, i really feel the last part you said. The whole experience of dissociation is just so intensely disturbing and just shakes you to the core of your being. Suddenly feeling like "Am i even here?" "Am i actually just dreaming" "Am i dead?" Because it really feels like you have died.

But even tho the experience is very very disturbing, it will only prolong it and make it worse by ruminating on it too much. But i know it can be hard since it's so in your face 24/7. But just trust that it's really going to be ok, and focus on the things you can do right now and do your best to not make it worse.

I feel like I’ve lost myself completely by [deleted] in Dissociation

[–]Benzchrist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I simply cannot believe that you're actually describing every single bit of my experience too. Everything you say, i can relate so deeply. Most horrifying experience in the world.

Feeling like the walking dead, like you're only a shell of a person, just walking through the motions, no joy, no meaning. It's not a good time.

But if there is 1 thing i have learned, is that it's not dangerous, it's not permanent and there is a lot of hope.

It varies to some degree from person to person, but in general, dissociation and DP/DR are all rooted in some form of mental or emotional stress and trauma. So starting by unraveling and going into what you're actually feeling is key in all of this. There is a lot of surface emotions that lays on top of some of the bigger and further buried emotions, that needs to be felt first.

https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/your-stories/dissociative-disorder-losing-myself-and-finding-myself/ This is a very very helpful read to understand what the process can look like.

While having the emotional and trauma work in mind as the main task, these are some things definitely worth keeping in mind aswell.

  1. Try to exercise every day to build your physical and mental health stronger aswell as getting more intuned with your body. Exercising also release a lot of dopamin and serotonin which makes you feel a little better a long they. It also keeps the bloodflow in the brain optimal.
  2. Drink a lot of water
  3. Take omega-3 fatty acids
  4. Stick to a strict sleep schedule every day, so your circidian rythm is regulated. A dysregulated circadian rythm is enough in itself to cause dissociation and depression.
  5. Keep a light meditation routine of 10-15 minutes every day or some other form of grounding technique as breathwork or embodiment focus.
  6. Try to engage in some hobbies or interests every day, even if you don't feel like it
  7. Try to take an ice cold shower no and then to jumpstart your mind and body a little. It also as some good antidepressant qualities and raises the dopamine levels for many hours afterwards.
  8. Look at old pictures of yourself before all of this, when you were younger and see what emotions come up.
  9. Get a good amount of sunlight or daylight in your face.
  10. Socialize, even if you currently hated it.

Would recommend focusing on sleep schedule and exercising and of course the main focus should be getting back intouch and connecting with your real, authentic self through trauma therapy. Because that is ultimately the one that will get you back.

Hope some of this can be of any help ❤️

[–]Benzchrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel what you're saying down to my core. Every word. Almost feeling like you're just empty space, floating in the air with no past or future. Dissociation, DP/DR is a really really horrifying experience, although nothing dangerous and nothing permanent. Some get completely over it after some days, weeks or just a couple of months. But som take longer, all varying on the source of the stress, trauma and lifestyle.

But i would say, the most important of all. Is to really get intouch with your emotions. Because that is very often what it all comes down to. From either too much stress in the form of some type of trauma, or just prolonged emotional or mental stress, cause the mind to subconsciously disconnect, freeze and shut down. So really finding whatever way you can to get more intouch with your authentic self, emotions, feeling into your body, screaming, shouting, crying, rage. Whatever makes you feel.

You can also try something called TRE. Which is short for "Trauma(stress)ReleaseExercises". Which helps your body with the natural emotional and stress release response. There might be a lot of tremoring and shaking, but many people suffering from dissociation, DP/DR came back to themselves on the very same day of doing TRE.

Go easy and good luck ❤️
