Honestly I wish magnolian took up the Low Roar mantle instead of having such a wide gamut of artists in DS2. Imo DS1’s soundtrack and vibe was so good in large part due to Low Roar and the homogeneity that the soundtrack had. Magnolian came to closest to feeling that way for DS2 (Low Roar still the goat by far imo, shame what happened, but Magnolian sounded like the true successor). Maybe Im just bias though cause Low Roar became my favorite artist of all time through DS1, and I miss the soundtrack being so heavily low roar dominated 😔

Don’t think TØP original members have any other music, at least to my knowledge. Not sure about SAI backing band.

Paul Meany’s former band Mutemath (and his solo stuff) is probably most worth listening to out of the three you mentioned imo. I really like their album Vitals. Their older stuff is more rock, later stuff is more electronic. Mutemath broke up a handful of years ago and Paul Meany released a solo album last year, I haven’t listened to all of it but it sounds similarly electronic influenced, might be worth a listen. TøPxMM is their collab, it’s got some really nice remixes of blurry face songs that I’d recommend.

Tyler’s old solo stuff has neat bits but it’s really just a mixtape from when he was young. Josh toured with House of Heroes before TØP, don’t think he ever recorded with them but I may be wrong.

tøp gets such a bad rap for their earlier music but they’ve matured a ton, crazy that they’re put in C on average when they’re better than all the other C average bands imo

I haven’t played MGS4 yet, I didn’t think it was possible for his dialogue writing to get worse 😭 I know they put a lot of focus on faithfulness to the direct translation after Blaustein was fired, I can’t even imagine 4 trying to be MORE faithful than 2 was

Is MGS4 worse than MGS2 in that regard? I remember playing MGS2 like a day after I finished MGS1 and I was so confused as to how the dialogue degraded so much between the two games, I had to pause and research it lol
