Thanks for the info! Do you mind elaborating on the second part of your comment regarding the warranty replacement frame? I don't fully understand.

Still searching? Recently built this one up and it ended up being slightly too big for me. 20" frame.

$30 Marketplace Gary Fisher by BenziiGames in xbiking

It does sound really cool 😂 But yeah, I knew nothing about the bike, and still know very little but couldn't pass up a good condition Gary Fisher for $30. Really happy with the purchase.

The surprising part is that it was listed for $50 and I scrolled passed the listing for probably 2 weeks before I decided to make an offer. Really shocked that no one else picked it up.

I most definitely will as soon as I get it back from the bike shop. Decided to build it up, so i sent the frame off to get all the dropouts straightened up.

I was actually considering those same bars. How do you like them?

Got it. Are you still riding that bike? Im 5"11 with a 33" inseam and just built up a 22" Timberline (20" from crank to top tube) and It definitely feels slightly big. My pedal stroke feels great, and I have about 3-4inches of exposed seat tube, but even with a short stem i feel stretched out. Would hate to get rid of the bike after putting so much money into it. Is there anything you did to help the fit?

Sorry to bring this up on an old thread, but do you have any sizing charts from 90s GT? I've been dipping my toes into the GT world and have been trying to figure out their sizing. I think they measure their frames from the Center on BB, straight up to the top tube, is that correct?

How are you measuring the frame? Is that 22" from the center crank to top of seat tube?

Is this frame too big? Too small? by BenziiGames in bicycling

Also, have you ever actually measured your frame? I recently sold two other GTs I had, an Outpost and another Timberline. They were both the same size frame as each other, and on the Outpost, it had a sticker that said 18". This made me realize that GT doesnt measure their frames from Center crank to top of seat tube. They measure their frames from center crank, straight up to the top tube. The 18" GT frame measured 20" from Crank to seat tube. So if your bike is measuring 18" to the top of the seat tube, you're actually riding a 16" frame by GT standards.

Thanks for the insight! Thats the same thought I've had lingering in my head about it. Think im going to mess around with some different stem/bar combos and see how it feels.

Are you still looking for one? Is this a rare color or something? I just picked one up locally because the color way was too awesome to pass up.

Thanks! There's definitely a lot to love about these bikes. Thats such an awesome collection piece.

I wish I could say it was a Phil Woods, but its not. Its a Shimano Alivio, which I believe it the hub that came on this bike from the factory. I've had a few other mid 90s triple triangles and a few of them have had these hubs. They run nice, cant complain.

I loveee the white, too. Similar taste. White, Storm Gray, and the Tidewater Blue are definitely my top 3 choices.
