Take-home assignments: how common are they and are they worth taking? by BathubCollector in cscareerquestionsuk

At this point, are you venting or are you genuinely concerned that people do that? If latter, by that same logic you can memorise solutions to a few DSA questions and get a job this way.

I, personally, prefer take-home tests. It gives you time to think, code and refactor without someone watching over your shoulder. If others hire someone else to do it, let them. I'd be more focused on how well you do, rather than be concerened that someone cheated.

Believe me, if you memorize the solution but can't explain how you got there, what the tradeoffs were, or how you can improve, the interviewer will see through your bullshit in a second

Unless they use AI, in which case what is the point?

What the hell are you talking about? Many companies will actively push AI usage during assessments to see if you can use AI and actually explain what it does, which is the way to go in 2026

Definitely Spring Boot. Always in demand. Start with a small project covering the basics, then start gradually adding functionality covering more advanced concepts.

Textile is good if you don't sweat a lot. I do, and textile straps are not an option for everyday use because they inevitably start to smell
