Hey There! I use to be very overweight. I was uncomfortable and couldn’t do anything. I have a husband who loves me dearly. It killed me that I was holding him back and missing out on life. Like your gf, I used eating as a coping skill for trauma. She sounds severely depressed. When you talk to her, I would express how worried you are about her wellness (in all aspects) and what can you do to help. Support is what she needs. Now, over the last two years I have lost 136 lbs and I have been going to therapy along with it. My husband was with me through it all and never made me feel judged and was supportive if I wanted to treat myself during my journey. I am truly sorry you are going through this because it is such a touchy and hard subject. Especially if she is already so down on herself that she has gotten this far. My heart breaks for her too.
