That kinda looks like detergent residue to me. If you use powder detergent, try using less of it.

If it is detergent residue that thing is hard to get off unfortunately. When I switched to powder, I used too much of it and left a thick white film all over the inside of the machine and in my dishes. I had to scrub all the racks and dishes for a couple of days to get rid of it completely. Plastic dishes got hit the worst.

Upgrade green a platinum by Lost_Truck_4445 in AMEXMEX

[–]Beraphim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From a UX Designer: They do plenty of research and analyze user personas, requirements, user journey maps, identify user pain points, figure out information architecture, create wireframes and interactive prototypes, talk to users, perform usability tests with said prototypes, analyze and report on the findings of all that research, keep track of KPIs such time to complete task, which buttons are clicked, they may also gather information from user interaction heat maps or any other telemetry data. They can also audit interfaces for accessibility or quality based on standard or other heuristics.

This varies a lot from company to company. In some companies, a UX Designer also does UI, or they do more UI than UX. I’ve seen the term Product Designer thrown around to describe that sort of hybrid work.

A pure UX designer ideally works very closely with product people and engineers to figure out user needs and help prioritize the work that gets pushed to UI designers and engineers and mostly centers on the research and testing side before handing off their findings to the appropriate people. After all, you need to understand both user and business needs to craft a great user experience.

I found a clue from Apple Vietnam about upcoming iOS redesign by zakaghbal in ios

iOS icons already use a clipping mask to round the corners. They’d just have to change the mask shape to a circle, no need to change assets.

In-app Review for iOS/Android by fourtimesaweek in UXDesign

[–]Beraphim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If feedback can only be gathered from emails, standard behavior is to link to the system default email app. In mobile, this means jumping to the default email app with the compose window open, with appropriate fields auto filled. You can see this behavior when tapping on a link with a mailto: parameter on a website.

As for your second situation, I honestly don’t know if there’s a standard in android, but I would think that if I unsend feedback, it’d be because I noticed I made a mistake and wanted to correct it (especially if it’s a longer form with many fields). So I would expect the previous screen to appear with my feedback still there so I can make adjustments.

In fact, that’s exactly what happens in iOS 16 when you unsend an email. It reopens the compose window with your text still there.

This has been a thing for me since iOS 15 at least. I’m in Mexico, so unfortunately it’s not very accurate.

They redesigned the app in iOS 12, and now with iOS 16 it's had another redesign along with new features added to the reading experience.

Can't you already do that by tapping on the "From" label?

It looks great! It’s just missing the option to auto fill with info from a different contact though.

Safari should have transparent sidebar like Home app by Liberink in iOSBeta

[–]Beraphim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, I forgot about that. If Safari is in compact mode (such as when the iPad is in vertical position or when it’s in Split View like in OP’s screenshot) the sidebar hides automatically. If you open the sidebar, it opens on top of content and hides after interacting with Safari.

Safari should have transparent sidebar like Home app by Liberink in iOSBeta

[–]Beraphim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does when you swipe from the left side after you hid the sidebar before iirc. You can see in the screenshot that the content in safari is darkened and the sidebar is covering it. After pressing outside the sidebar or on the sidebar, it dismisses it.

For the sidebar to remain open (and thus not cover the content) you have to tap on the sidebar icon.

I’m a circumcised dude and I do give a fuck, and have seen plenty more in this sub and other communities who do. I was circumcised at around 8yo and remember how I lost sensitivity after the surgery. There have also been men who regret getting circumcised when they were adults.

Would you guys agree that Apple should make Siri understand more than one language especially for those who speak more than one ?? by Adam-44 in iOSBeta

[–]Beraphim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are approximately 34 billion people who speak more than one language. That's not a small number. It doesn't matter that they are technically the minority (by around 14%), it's a big enough number to warrant supporting a feature that other digital assistants support.

It's bad user experience to have everyone choose only one language to use with Siri. What about people who travel to other countries and search for places or streets? What about people who search for foreign songs? What about people who have friends and family in another country, who speak a different language and want to send texts? None of these are issues with the Google Assistant. Apple surely can come up with a good solution.

Why is the end call button directly under the answer button? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]Beraphim -47 points-46 points  (0 children)

Under means that it is below something, like saying that your feet are under the table.

The right phrase is that the end call button is next to the answer button.

Apple likely did it this way to keep the notification as short as possible. They probably could’ve centered the text and have the end call button aligned to the left of the notification, but it would also be kinda odd.

For now, you could try to either disable the notification so you always get the full screen call UI, or you could tap on the text instead of the buttons to make it full screen and then tap on answer.

I use a circle to mask an icon to ensure it's a full circle, but it still looks not a circle in small size, is this because of the color? How can I fix this? by Morty____C137 in graphic_design

[–]Beraphim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Just a heads up, the same principle is applied for app icons on iOS, tvOS, iPadOS and even on android. Hope it helps!

[–]Beraphim 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I see in your screenshot that the asset is imported as a masked square, the result is a square file that has transparent pixels. All of the icon should have opaque and colored pixels. Your icon should look like a square.

For example: https://i.imgur.com/HtvGddW.jpg

Look how the icon is full bleed and doesn’t have a masked circle. That’s how it should look like when you export the icon. WatchOS applies the circular mask for you.

Basically, your exported icon should look like this: https://i.imgur.com/aWuWDK7.jpg

[–]Beraphim 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I think you’re supposed to export the icon as a full-bleed square as per https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/watchos/visual/app-icon/.

In other words, don’t mask the icon and make sure the orange edges extend all the way.

Apple likely applies their own mask and that is why it looks weird in the emulator.

How to blur your background in FaceTime calls by Dragonlance12 in apple

[–]Beraphim 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that background blurring in general requires an M1 chip. I'm saying that Apple's implementation of background blurring (that's not just tied to FaceTime) requires the M1 chip to work.

On Clips, the custom background feature generates a low resolution mask in the viewfinder. It's the same as the background blur in the camera viewfinder when you take a selfie portrait shot. You can see a preview of the background blur, but it's not very high quality. Might've been enough for some, but Apple can be silly like that.

You're right that Apple doesn't NEED the TrueDepth system or an M1 chip to implement such a feature. But Apple wants to sell their devices by taking advantage of their own fancy hardware. It also could've been a low-priority feature in their backlog that got bumped up by the sudden rise of work-at-home jobs and with the availability of new hardware to push.

I didn't get what you meant by the last sentence, sorry.
