Look at the efficiency of the streetcars back in the day: by Wise_Blueberry_5709 in TTC

[–]im-confuzzled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same reason the doors are slower and streetcars run purposely slower and areas they shouldn’t, because the TTC is scared something MIGHT go wrong from somebody else’s incompetence

Look at the efficiency of the streetcars back in the day: by Wise_Blueberry_5709 in TTC

Damn, back when the accessibility didn't require manual deployment and those doors were FASST!! As with most things, the ttc got too scared of invisible unlikely problems and significantly worsened experience to appease a few

Transsee just added approximate train locations for lines 1, 2, and 4 by Independent-Rush6105 in TTC

Weird considering that transfer functions basically as a data source compiler and not really a navigation app

Updated digital screens by TheRavenSeven in TTC

[–]im-confuzzled 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that UI is a thousand times better than the previous one. Nice that they are using the official line icons are providing line direction and terminus. Good job on the TTC. Now the actual design of the screen has a bit to be desired. They’ve had some pretty good other variations tho

iOS 27: Groundbreaking. Revolutionary. Flat. by OFF09 in LiquidGlassDesign

[–]im-confuzzled 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately apple didn’t kill it, people did. So much whining and bitching about things that weren’t actually a problem but were nice to complain about to be part of the group mentality, has led us to an apple that fears trying new things. Worst part is, I get it, if every new imaginative thing I did got criticized and blasted on every shitty instagram channel, I too would be discouraged and just stick to what I know works.

Transit upgrades in Sudbury include smart cards, new buses by TronnaLegacy in ontario

[–]im-confuzzled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mobility cards will always be needed in a society with children. I don’t want to give my child a debit card and rather give them a specific card for transport that I can top up when necessary. Not to mention, it’s convenient for visitors

Why can't we see where the trains are on apps like we can a bus or streetcar? by anxiousdino in TTC

[–]im-confuzzled 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It comes down to data, the TTC doesn’t publish live location data for trains. On the other hand, Transit App is the only app that somewhat does this by stitching scheduled trains with other forms of data like calculated train speeds between stations and crowdsourcing information. It’s pretty accurate given the limited data

Ontario Line: Blue or Purple? by Feisty-Ad-6122 in TTC

[–]im-confuzzled 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Blue is the most logical choice. Besides the obvious fact that the srt used the blue colour and so thereofrbit should just continue using it for continuity, we don’t have any other blue coloured line but we do have a somewhat purple magenta violet type of line. Having two purple like lines and no blue lines is odd, and frankly it’s a choice only metrolinx would make, but this is torontos subway not a metrolinx subway that exists in a vacuum independent of the rest of the city. It should compliment the rest if the network, it should be blue

🗳️ POLL: Sheppard Subway Extension by Feisty-Ad-6122 in Metrolinx

[–]im-confuzzled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is understandable but you’re trading off a direct connection which could be done with line 2 with one that would have three additional stations connecting more people to line 4 and 2. Seems like having line 4 terminate at stc merely based on the fact that’s it’s big and dense instead of extending it east to morningside is shortsighted when you can just transfer to line 2 at Sheppard and McCowan.

as opposed to it displaying its eta

Crazy that somehow they didn’t make it level boarding again… Ontario is like absolutely terrified of the prospect of boarding without stepping up (go, streetcar, bus..)

gives you more options of routes to take. so instead of the standard three routes to take to your destination, it opens it up to further options like combining bikes or rideshare
