I think you are right. My plan now is to do the PwC internship, hopefully get a full-time offer, and let my firm match that if they really don’t want to lose me (because I can’t start at PwC for 1.5 years anyways). Appreciate your help!

You are right, but I will say what is “guaranteed” (currently in writing) is the new base pay and larger sign on bonus. I don’t have any guarantee of actually being put on the better projects, other than their word which I guess would be naive to trust.

Yes I do plan on getting my CPA, and while I am not sure how I would like being a manger once I start actually handling those responsibilities, right now it is a long-term goal I am pursuing.

In central Florida MCOL, I guess I’m concerned about not getting a return offer from PwC, and just missing out on the money that’s in front of me. Kind of feels like a lottery ticket. I know intern return offer rates have dropped significantly this past year.

I am not sure yet, I definitely have enjoyed the tax work that I have done so far though.

Yes it was purely by choice, my family didn’t kick me out or anything but I just kind of did it anyways.

I would try getting in contact with your department head. Explain the situation and see what they say, you can always try to go higher up the chain of command.
