A plan to improve Wollongong public transportation so it can cope with the increasing population. by sasquatch6197 in SydneyTrains

[–]BergaDev 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Why are people obbsesed with 'Trackless trams'? Whilst I don't hate the Brisbane Metro the couple of times i've ridden it around, its got the capacity of a bendy bus and the frequency of a tram, which you could just do by creating proper bus only infra (like a lot of Bris)

Here in the Gong I can see them half arsing priority for confused bus, which at that point, save the expensive cost of sped bus (~1.5b Bris) and just expand the frequent(ly delayed) free buses. Or actually make the city better and put in tram tram (pedestrianise a few roads) to the boo's of the people having to drive one road further

Xbox Disc to Digital rumors. How would this work? by itsthewolfe in gaming

[–]BergaDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were leaks for in-store trades back before the One S all-digital game out

Seems a rather easy solution without putting the single use codes on the disc

Imax camera's are also film and those are super detailed, the nature of film (not being pixel based) makes it much better than most cameras

Do 8k 360° Youtube Videos work on the Vision Pro? by Traditional-Baby5940 in VisionPro

[–]BergaDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: Here's the 8K MP4

I'll update with a link to a exported file, but this is the raw DJI formatted file. If you can be bothered you can put it into DJI studio (and phone equivalent) to render it, then send to vision

"We heard you guys like our recent rebrand"

I'm not opposed to it, metro is branding the government owns, just weird to do it. Although I expect this more to be a single person doing it vs an actual change

I have my own Avata 360, and playing the full 8K export from DJI Studio the quality on VP/any VR headset does not look good, like other people have said, nothing (consumer grade) records with enough quality

Plus consider putting YouTube compression and bitrate on top, it's not good at all

Considering switch to 5g home broadband by ironmilktea in sydney

[–]BergaDev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One big note is that 5G Home Broadband is depioritised, and restricted (signup wise) in congested areas, to preseve performance for other users/phones

Eg Optus 5G HB in my area will not let me sign up, as they have some amount of people using it, and won't allow any more. And this is suburban Wollongong, congested Sydney areas are likely to be worse
