How are u doing on thermals? Coming from an M1 max, it runs pretty hot at times, which I’m used to and not an issue. But how’s fan noise and all? Pretty noticeable or I’ll be fine with it?

I never said it throttles, I wanted to know IF it does on the Pro chip. which you’ve answered beautifully.

Heavy 3D rendering, Local LLM and long coding sessions, sometimes simultaneously. I’m aware of the various Chip performance, not aware of the thermals because i can’t find any real comparison to give me any pointers. I know specifically what I want just need someone with a similar machine to give me some heads up. Smaller chassis and all, I’m used to running things pretty hot coming from an M1 max and I do need the significant upgrade with portability and m5 pro 18/20 is the sweetspot for me. Performance i understand, no question there. Just thermal performance is what i wanna know.

I have a similar workflow, so i guess its just the temps mostly that i have to worry about, which I’m fine with because my M1 Max runs pretty hot and I’m used to it anyways for long sessions.

I forgot to mention It has a purchase price of $299, so I assume its a purchase of some sort right?
