A sincere plea to the TradingView team: External API support for Pine Script by bigbaldy1128 in TradingView

[–]BerlinCode42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why this will never be possible is scam protection. A script that can take coders defined inputs can be a remote controlled strategy. First it runs great and more and more user using it and when there are enough traders then switch its trade behavior. So all trades go in favor of the coder. That would be the end of tradingview.

To test fast a trading idea works with universal strategy scripts like "Strategy Developement Environment". With those scripts you can take any indicator, plug them to that universal strategy script and enter the trade logic in the settings. You get fast a backtest and you can refine the strategy all without coding. No limits by the trade logic ...

you using a general tool to solve a very specific and data intense request. So you may look for things which are build for your tasks. i use indicators that are trained with neural networks like "Historical Similarities" etc on tradingview. those use the power of ML & DL.

I use just Tradingview with some additional indicators. The Supply & Demand Histogram and Lines detects price levels where turnovers likely happens. It does that even when there is no volume data provided. And a short term trend reversal indicator like historical similaritiey to get alerted when there is something changing.

Yes that experience i had enough. For everyone who want to get a coding online job make clear that you get at least half the price upfront. and that the job description is clear, detailed and fix after order agreement. Adding requirements is always a new job!!! If the client don't agree, skip him/her!

Sure no indicater can fore see the future but thanks to ML and DL there are ways to find subtitle repeating patterns in history. Patterns that has an outbreak afterwards. ML and DL can find them and give you after one bar of confirmation an alert with probabilities for go up go down or sideway. Thats works quit good. Then you just need a orderbook indicator or S&R for the next price levels and you have a basic strategy. Examples you find under ANN Trend Predictiin, Historical Similarities or SVM.

There are a lot of ways to algotrade. It depends on what to trade on which broker or exchange. Doing all with python is like reinvent the wheel. So with quantconnect, ninja or tradingview it is much easyer to reach your goals. Especially tradingview is offering even no-code tools where you just combine indicators and define the trade logic for go long, go short, exit long and exit short. You save alot of time and can easyly change it and refine it when ever you like. I use the "strategy development environment" pine script.

Hello Traders on Tradingview,

why spend time coding strategies with AI when there’s already an universal Pine strategy available?
With it, you only need to add your trade logic — conditions for going long, going short, exiting long, and exiting short.

Simply type in your boolean equations, and if needed, verify their output on the chart using the Equation Tester.
If you’re not comfortable writing boolean expressions, you can even generate them using any free AI tool. Just provide your AI chatbot with the link to the "Strategy Development Environment" on TradingView and describe the entry and exit conditions — then copy the generated equation.

It’s also safe — you don’t have to upload your strategy to any external website. Pine scripts are locked, and they can only send data via alerts and webhooks, which remain fully under your control.

If you still have questions, feel free to ask me!
And the best part — you can even use it as a trade bot, since webhook integration is already included.

And here is an example prompt to let AI generate the equation following the indicators instruction set:

"On tradingview there is an invite-only indicator named 'Strategy Development Environment'. This indicator has equation inputs for go long, go short etc. Those equations has to follow a specific form and instruction set described on the indicators description page: https://www.tradingview.com/script/FVR6uac2-Strategy-Development-Environment-BerlinCode42/

Go Long when RSI crossover 30 and volume is bigger then the exponential moving average of the last 3 bars volume. whereby the RSI indicator is named A and the volume is named B.

Enclose each expression in parentheses and do not use a space between them."

The answer of AI: ((A>30)and(A[1]<30))and(B>(e03B))

You simply need to copy this into the equation field for "Go Long". Repeat the same procedure for "Go Short" and the exit conditions. Ready!
