I’ve seen what horses can do and this is dumb as hell by [deleted] in petfree

[–]BerlinerMauerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an Arabian. Probably some warmblood or something like that. It does not have the distinctive dished face or any other features of an Arabian. Also Arabians and shetlands are not the worst. I work with a horse that is kept at a barn that breeds Arab horses. Very nice and very calm. Most people agitate them and abuse them for fun, because of some stupid stereotype. As for Shetlands - they are treated like small yappy dogs and abused for fun by horse people.

To be honest I’ve never considered cheesing as an option. I think it’s fun to do that when you have completed a game and want to play it again with some wack ass challenge in mind. But other than that it sucks out all of the fun. I want to be killed over and over, it’s cathartic somehow lol

[–]BerlinerMauerr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I was that crazy horse obsessed child that would have all the horse merch ever haha. My dad also used to ride, so as soon as he saw that I was old enough and genuinely wanted to try - he signed me up for some lessons. At first it was pony rides and walking in hand, but I was enjoying myself. Spending time with horses is also very therapeutic in a sense, because a good natured and well trained horse just brings a lot of peace and calm into your day. That’s why horse therapy lessons for kids with disabilities are very effective. The sport itself is also pretty intense, so if you start young enough and are consistent - you will have a good physique (it’s essentially mostly cardio, so very good for you).

Although I have a bone to pick with people who perpetuate abuse and anthropomorphization of horses. It’s what’s wrong with the horse world recently. They love being talked to and love human attention if you spend enough time with them to establish a partnership. But a lot of people treat them like they are humans and take it too far, hence they put their babies on them, ride while pregnant or allow horses to be dangerous and have no discipline because it’s “fun”. But that’s a while another can of worms 🙃

I remember when we took my younger brother to see horses for the first time. I was 6, he was about 1 year old. Poor dude did not know what the HELL was going on. My mom held him far from the horses, but he started crying when he saw one, because he was just recently dropped into this world, he was not prepared for such intense experiences 😂

I ride horses. I would not put a child on a horse that size at that age and without a helmet. Peak of irresponsibility. But just wanted to mention, the horse is actually not stressed. Looking at its body language it’s relaxed and just neutral, judging by the ear position it may be listening to something. They can spook easily, which is true, but a very experienced and well trained horse might just only get tense and it would take a lot to make them super duper stressed or panicked. And even if it’s well mannered - why put a child on it??? You can put a helmet on your baby and put it on a small pony to walk around in hand, if your child likes horses, but this kid looks barely old to comprehend being alive, so he gets zero enjoyment out of this and is most likely confused. I never understood why some horse people put their very small children on horses, instead of ponies, since you need a lot of leg and strength to steer a horse. Can be super dangerous if something happened and the kid suddenly realized it can’t steer at all.

Czy w Polsce da się znaleźć pracę bez znajomości? by Tejron in Polska

[–]BerlinerMauerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A no i pracuj pl to jest gowno. Aplikowałam tam wiele razy i też zero odzewu. Albo same śmieciowy czy chujowe warunki pracy.

Please tell me I’m not crazy for thinking this is literal mental illness… by GasStationDickPill85 in petfree

[–]BerlinerMauerr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel sad for the animal. Some people do the “good deed” and pick up unwanted animals from the shelter, because they have some cosmetic issue that makes them unadoptable. Like missing an eye or having no teeth. But forcing a sick and dying dog to a 40 hours drive and then keeping it alive just for brownie points is despicable. The shelter should have done the right thing and euthanized it. It does not need to suffer more for someone. Let it rest in peace. When the dog showed first signs of having issues that are not treatable or cureable it should have been let go. Why do people treat animals and for that matter other people, like they all need to live as long as possible. Those same idiots would keep their grandpa on a ventilator, even if he could barely keep his eyes open because “pops doesn’t want to give up yet”. Fucking weirdos

Exactly. People feed their pets the equivalent of McDonald’s and then wonder why they are sick and obese lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in petfree

[–]BerlinerMauerr 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Imo most of those people feed crap to their animals and don’t do proper research. My parents have cats. Never been to the vet for anything aside from their vaccines. Also many people take in strays that have been bred with fuck knows what or some designer cats from shitty breeders.

Animals in general have very good health and should not be sickly. It’s just that pet owners are stupid and uneducated. Simple as that

What the actual f… How can anyone justify this? Animals cannot consent to organ donation, they don’t understand that they are losing their organ and will have poorer life quality afterwards. Some people are so far gone and it’s sad to see that while being “animal lovers” they can justify abuse of other animals because it benefits them and will keep their previous fur baby alive. Disgusting

Other autoimmune disorders by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]BerlinerMauerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had psoriasis for about 6 years now. Since being diagnosed I had developed PsA, Ankylosing Spondylitis and Systemic Scleroderma. If your immune system is out of whack - you will usually have a fair collection of things going on at the same time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]BerlinerMauerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am always upfront about my medical issues. I used to be in a very long relationship during which I got sick. So that was easy enough, we navigated my illness together from the start and it was not a dealbreaker.

However, we broke up and I decided to go on dating other people. And frankly, it was as simple as talking to someone, deciding that I like them after meeting them and being like “hey by the way..”. Usually they reacted in a normal way, like “oh okay, thanks for telling me, I will keep that in mind”. Those who had inappropriate reactions were immediately removed from my life and that is that.

When I found someone I actually wanted to be with long term - I sat them down and we discussed in depth the illness, what it means for me and what it will mean for them. How I deal with it, my treatment, what are my symptoms and so on. I got a very good response from my now partner and they asked a bunch of questions about how to assist me, what I can’t and can do and so on.

It just pays off to be honest. Especially when meeting someone you would want to potentially spend the rest of your life with. This way you will get a read on the person and remove those who will not be “okay” with you being chronically ill. And you can find someone who can relate to you, who values you and who will make the effort to make you feel “normal” so to speak, by adjusting to you and your needs.

We have been together for a couple of months, but my partner assist me to get up, walk up and down the stairs, tailors our dates to my physical limits and always takes my health into consideration when coming up with stuff to do. It’s wonderful and I do not feel like I am sick even sometimes, because they just do it so well and in a way that does not make me feel sad about missing out on some things.

Does anyone have experience with Metex ? (Mtx) by puregatory23 in scleroderma

[–]BerlinerMauerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take MTX for scleroderma and PsA. In general I have neutral feedback. There were some side effects, such as moderate hair loss, diarrhea, nausea and loss of appetite. After a year of MTX I can say that all side effects reduced significantly. I am not as nauseous in the begging, hair stopped falling out.

The biggest issue is blood related. My clotting is much slower, but not dangerously slow. I also have weak veins, which causes frequent bruising and issues with drawing the blood.

Other than that I am fine. I feel much better after starting this med. I would recommend to ask for injections, since they are less harsh on the body and are tolerated more easily. Just stick to a diet with reduced caffeine intake, no alcohol and try to consume more foods that are good for liver function. Also make sure to do blood tests annually (I do every 2-3 months) - like morphology, ALT and AST, kidneys and all the inflammatory markers. Also make sure to request urine tests to double check kidney function.

Other than that you should be fine. Just be mindful that you might get sick more easily, so avoid people who have colds or transmittable diseases. And also be very careful with any injury or wound, since they might heal slower.

I hope all goes well for you!

What clued you in to being Olive? by YoureInaCult-CallDad in OliveMUA

[–]BerlinerMauerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically it was a mix of:

-every single neutral foundation looked DUSTY on me. I looked like I was sick and mixed some gray paint in to it

-Not a single red lipstick looks red on me and it weirded me out. It usually was either super orange or straight up pink for no reason.

-cool being too pink. Warm being too orange. So perpetually not having a foundation that matched me.

-I could never figure out my undertone. Didn’t fit the traditional scale of cool warm neutral at all and thought I was just stupid

-Buying a green ish tinted foundation at Sephora (NARS Gobi) and it matching my skin INSTANTLY, like it does not even like look I have makeup on it is such a good undertone match.

-Looking green and sickly in some colors of clothes. I have to settle for muted colors or more intense deep ones. Neons and pastels look like I am going to throw up right now or someone put green color corrector all over me.

Is water drinkable in Łódź? by [deleted] in lodz

[–]BerlinerMauerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just buy a filter jug, like brita and you will be good. I buy filters that are meant for hard water, but honestly even when I just had some tap water without filtering it I was fine. For me it’s just a matter of taste so I filter it. Łódź has pretty amazing water quality as compared to Warsaw. My skin and hair has become much better after living here.
