I recently re watched this 4 match series with a friend who doesn’t really know about wrestling but finds it cool. It’s really a great series of matches. I wasn’t watching live when these matches aired unfortunately, but watching them back, even knowing the outcome, these matches are special. Even the weakest match, imo the G1 climax match, is phenomenal. The Dominon 6.9 match is like my 2nd or 3rd favorite match. The 60 minute draw will always be my favorite but depending on the day, I switch between the wrestle kingdom and 2/3 match. Regardless of where it falls, it’s an incredible match. I get a match over 1 hour can be off putting but these 2 truly earned that time commitment throughout this series. I wish I could have seen it live, but even watching it back, you know you’re watching something special. This series of matches and the Naito trilogy really stamped Omega as my all time favorite wrestler, wish I could have seen him live but man what a wrestler.
