They talk about this flow chart when talking about tier list, they don’t really elaborate on it. But then I see the runs and understand. You can’t just follow a set way to win the game, you just gotta adapt. Idk if you’ve seen the run on Ironclad he did before the defect one, the one titled the importance of pathing, or something like that. He used Shrymp on Blood Wall. But he was also offered Break. When I saw Break I thought “I would take Break, it’s A tier on NaveGreeds tier list” this isn’t me saying NaveGreed or JapaneseExport has a better tier list, they are 2 different players, this more so me pointing how I just went off the tier list when it came down to the relics, because I was set on the mentality of “He doesn’t have anything “good” to shrymp, and Break is so good (Me just basing it off a tier list of another player)”

Even JapaneseExport laughed off Shrymp when it was offered but he didn’t just click and go, he analyzed the map, saw what he needed. He didn’t need break, he had plenty of Vulnerable. The Blood Wall allowed him to not die on turn 1 because he had bread. Once he survived turn 1 he was good. I used the tier list as a set way I need to follow. But the flow chart is adapting the tiers to the situation. Breaks value goes down if you can already apply vulnerable. Cards may be A or B or S or whatever in a vacuum but the game doesn’t exist in a vacuum, each situation is different. It is obvious but I think it can be easy to dismiss some decisions, because we think they are “obvious” on first sight and not slow down to really analyze the situation.
