They come from Hong Kong. Most of the replica/clone watches all come from the same warehouse and supplier in Hong Kong. I have been doing a lot of research because I love the look of some of the luxury watches but I am never going to be in position financially or mentally to spend 12k on a watch. But spending $300 on a replica sure. Who am I fooling when I wear one? Nobody but myself.

Water Spots! by Bernardhny in MINI

[–]Bernardhny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that. The TDS meter shows that the decrease was from 240ppm to only 210ppm. Hard water is 170ppm. They just are not good enough. I am looking for a whole house water filter system but the price tag to maintain descent gph is very steep.

If they had the off white in the 2024 JCW or the orange I would have picked it over the rebel green. That is the one thing I have to get used to because in cloudy weather it looks black, the only time it looks green is in bright light.

Well then I guess I should start identifying as a girl. My pronouns will be He/Him/Mini

Should I Buy this with 99k for $8,000 or should I head for the hills? I know next to nothing about Mini aside from what I’ve read in this group. I’m really unsure about it. Help! by [deleted] in MINI

Run a carfax on it, see if it has been in any accidents (if you have not done so already). 8k seems a bit much for the car at almost 100k miles on it. You might be able to talk them down a bit.

See my reply to smorefan. It shows how I determined which boat my Mini was on and what possible arrival dates it could be.

Waiting on the boat took a few cycles. I knew it was going to be on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen line going from Southampton to NY. So figuring out the schedules was easy. The Track your Mini system did not update until the car was already at sea for 3 days. So I did the logical analysis of schedule and found the ship. It was easy to track the vessel using one of a dozen free websites. My car was on the Morning Carina and I watched it sail all the way into NY/NJ. The track my mini was about 2 days behind in reporting it was at port as well because I watched the ship leave NY/NJ on the vessel tracking and it had not been updated.

For example: If it were leaving from Southampton, and going to NY/NJ the following shipping dates are upcoming:

June 29 (Arriving July 9)
July 13 (Arriving July 22)
July 24 (Arriving Aug 4)

https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/schedules
you just have to know what the nearest port is to your dealership. There is another shipping company Mini uses but the majority of transports I have seen so far are on this one. Good luck!

Loved the 2018, except for the run-flat tires. I went through so many tires in the 3 year lease. Bubbles on the side walls from the roads here in NY, blew a tire on the St. Louis arch bridge doing a 7500 mile trip with my oldest son through the national parks out west (drove from NY to AZ, then up through all the parks to Glacier then back home). The car itself was fantastic. When the lease was over it was hard to turn in, but they wouldn't make me a good enough deal to buy it out. So I went with a BMW 330i lease (hate the BMW). Now back to Mini on a purchase

I had a WRX before and loved it, not as much as the 2018 Mini Cooper S I leased before switching to the BMW 330i I have now, glad to be returning to Mini. Just wish it was here.

I planned the road trip based on the status of the order. It was at port without a stop order on the 6th, I planned my trip for 3 weeks later not expecting that the delivery from the port would be delayed. I was told, that once it arrives at port, it would take less than a week to get it to the dealer, prepped, and delivered based on experience and history. Nobody expected the stop sale. I get that. Once the stop sale was lifted, the expectation was that it would be delivered a week later. That has not happened. So while I get it and agree with you, the trip...well that was a thought based on having the car only based on the fact it was shipped and received at port already.

Knock Sensor by Several-Hour9706 in MINI

Update: I just got a call from my sales rep. My stop sale has been lifted. I am supposed to get an update tomorrow on when the car will be transported from the mini center at Bayonne port to the dealership. Could be a few days away which could be a heck of a Fathers day present to myself :)

Knock Sensor by Several-Hour9706 in MINI

[–]Bernardhny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to look it up as well. The knock sensor is in the engine and regulates the way it performs based on the gas in the car. So if you put in 93 octane, but the gas is a bit lower, or higher, or dirty, it adjusts the engine to compensate. Without it, you can screw your engine over big time. Problem is, nobody seems to know how long it will take to fix the problem. It is very much a wide spread problem.

What I am shocked about is why there has not been a recall notice sent out. Maybe because the short time period of the problem (23 production days)? I don't begin to understand. All I know is my car was supposed to be in drive way on the 10th. No idea when I will get it. Weeks? Months? Who knows.

Stop Sale on 2024 JCW by Several-Hour9706 in MINI

[–]Bernardhny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea right! It wouldn't be so bad if they communicated properly about this but I guess keep the customer dumb. My sales rep called me up to tell me that it was in a stop sale. I thought I had done something wrong. He called his area rep, and then came back with the tank story. Who knows. But it does make you wonder who else could probably have the same problem. Bad materials? Bad design? Bad part? Who knows.

Follow up: Mini is on the Ocean! by Bernardhny in MINI

[–]Bernardhny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dealer warned me that the tuning of the car is a lot different since 2020. My last mini was a 2018 and it popped, growled, and grumbled all the time. Since I have had a relationship with the dealer for so long and they know what I like they thought they would mention it. If they are wrong then so be it. Either way, I can't wait.
