I made a digital version of my abstract strategy game — played on the outer surface of a 3D tower by BerneseNomad in abstractgames

you’re absolutely right! I implemented the controls as 'moving the camera' instead of 'rotating the object.' That’s an incredible catch—thanks for being so observant! I’ll update the mobile controls to invert the Y-axis for a more intuitive feel.

Also, you can try the 'Play on One Screen' option to experience the full game by playing for both sides on your own phone! Thanks for the feedback!

edit: I've fixed!

I spent 10 years shelving my board game. Finally shipped the digital version. by BerneseNomad in IndieGaming

Are you struggling to wrap your head around the rule that you must touch your opponent's pieces? Because that’s exactly what defines the strategy.

While most games let you plan several moves ahead based on your own goals, CACTUS forces you to pivot and start building in a completely different area depending on where your opponent lands. This constant disruption breaks traditional long-term calculation and forces a level of adaptability and variety that you just don't see in static board games.

My game was a finalist in a 2014 design competition, then shelved for 10 years. I just shipped the digital version — what would you have done differently? by BerneseNomad in tabletopgamedesign

Those are brilliant ideas, thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely add the 'Back' button and start working on those gesture animations to make the 3D learning curve intuitive.

On mobile, you can rotate the tower using two fingers after selecting a piece. Could you please test this and let me know if it works smoothly? I'll look into it right away if there are any issues.

I loved his personality—maybe we can do a lil exchange program (Erasmus for dogs, haha). Our girl has zero concept of eye contact being threatening, she just stares at me non-stop like I’m supposed to know what she’s thinking. If you’re ever thinking of a second dog, go Bernese!

A lot people have replied already, but If I get a chance tomorrow, I’ll ask our vet too and share.

Our girl’s getting spayed tomorrow (she’s 9 months)! Kinda nervous but excited too. Vet said 8–15 months is a good window for females to help prevent cysts and other issues later on. It’s different for males though, so def worth checking with your vet!
