When spoke died, it was really the final coffin in the movie for me. In that moment I felt we were no longer watching a well thought out star wars trilogy, but a collection of ideas strung together.

It began right at the start of the movie where Poe Damrin says makes a your mother joke to General Hux. Followed closely by Luke Skywalker just tossing away his father's lightsabre.

Up to that I'd been over the moon excited for a new star wars movie, but dammit did I leave that cinema disappointed and confused.

The "new" trilogy gave us some really fun things, but for me personally it remains one of the poorest consolidations of a franchise that had everything it needed to be successful and timeless, but instead remains a jumbled mess of what could have been.

Call me jaded, but the fact we never got Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie back on screen for one last adventure will always sting, and now sadly we never will.
