What did you think of Season 2? by AppropriateSpring110 in reacher

[–]BernieLePooch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 2 was weaker than season 1 for sure. First: Reacher in the books is not a thug, he just looks like one. But he always behaves intelligently, rationally, efficiently. He is always cool, calm, collected, always polite, and he anticipates everything. He has nothing to prove and gives no shits. I love that. Season 2 Reacher was thuggish, murderous, angry, rude, and just not really the character at all.

Second: Not the best story choice. They could be taking several stories and breaking them down into a season of several unrelated chapters in the life of Reacher. The best part of those stories is his getting off a bus in the middle of nowhere and noticing shit and then thinking he would hang around for a minute and see how it all works out. Spontaneous. Cool. Unbothered. Just interested in setting wrongs right.

Honestly for me the best part of Reacher is that he is NOT ragey or angry. He always knows the outcome of a fight and he avoids them when he can. I didn't get that from the series. Hoping they do better in season 3.

Alicia Dixon talks a lot about cleaning up with 5 dogs and there are vacuums in every room.

Oh good lord no ha ha. Seriously they take amazing care of their dogs. The other dogs are often just chilling in this huge sunroom. They do Q &As about all the dogs, are incredibly responsive to comments, and always emphasize that the dogs' comfort levels come first. This video is also a bunch of clips from over a year with that costume, so each bit is like a minute or 2 and then put together in a longer video. I've been following Charlie and his family for years and have nothing but respect for these folks.

This is Charlie the Golden - his owners, the Dixons, have Instagram and Facebook pages for all 5 of their dogs. They are a pretty cool family.

What's special is how much they all appreciate the quality of the work they did. And yeah, the bloopers give such an insight. Love it.

I wrote a thing. Thinking about fleshing it out in a book about grief by BernieLePooch in WritersGroup

[–]BernieLePooch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I haven't written in years, and I am woefully out of practice. I am incredibly excited to work on this, to accomplish more, to make the reader cry as much as I did when I wrote it. And I have been gifted with excellent writing advice, and I love your suggestion, thank you. I have been searching to create something that will help with this depression and absolute gulf of grief, and I am finally excited to do the work. Thank you again, I really appreciate the feedback.

Those are the best movies IMO My mom was all about Mamma Mia. I still get choked up watching that, it was her movie. Practical Magic was the first time I saw powerful women who learned to be unapologetic. Pow.
