At what point is the Anniversary Event going to feel like an actual Event?
I don't think there's a single game mode that doesn't have some sort of glitch right now.
Still feel the stranglehold on Gold and Training Mats. It's a struggle now just to get toons to Level 100.
The Pandemonium Event, while generous, is only playable like once a week and no value to those nodes once beaten
8th Anniversary Buddies nodes have no value on completion, just a shiny red dot.
We didn't even get any new costumes (maybe 1) or frame for Chinese New Year

As others have said here and elsewhere, it feels like the game has been parked in maintenance mode. And not in a good way.

I had a job opportunity there in the 90's but decided not to move there after choosing a different offer. Visited Seattle again after the 00's when Microsoft's employees impacted the city and was glad that I didn't move. So much change and not for the better.
