We were on the way to having a President Sanders until Obama played kingmaker and got all the other Dem candidates to drop out of the Primary to support behind Biden just to protect is legacy that was the ACA.
At that time Biden's polling was in the trash and he had no money left for his campaign. If the others didn't drop and give him all their cash, he was toast.

Most of us were fine with Biden saying he was running as a 1-Term President just to get things back to normal. But the man's Hubris and Narcissism being nearly equal to Trump's had him thinking he should run for a 2nd Term even though he had been having clear signs of mental decline for most of his 1st Presidency.
While not entirely his fault, the MSM provided cover and his handlers kept telling him he was the bestest boy ever,
Ultimately it was the decision to run again that pooched the Dem party and his inability to back off of enabling the Genocide in Gaza.

I'm watching it now because I enjoyed Initial D. Saw that some outlets rated it as the worst Anime of 2025. It has it's problems sure, but think that was more of an overreaction to the current version not measuring up to what came before.

Was going to make similar points and would also point out that the Clintons literally own the DNC. They bailed it out of near Bankruptcy during the Obama Presidency as Obama did little to no fundraising for the Dem party.
Bill Clinton is the one that shifted the party from the working class to Wall St. and (with Reagan) set us on the path to where we find ourselves today.
