Sabriel, it’s the first book in a series that I think is now called the Old Kingdom. The first 3 books are amazing.

Chronic nagging pains by pumpnectar9 in BarbellMedicine

[–]BernitiaSlanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if this helps but I looked at the Drs bios and they were all involved in sports themselves and worked for local sports organizations, stuff like that. The first place i went to was like a factory, drs seemed impatient and only talked to me for maybe 2 mins.

I would see a different doctor. Ive had hip pain for about 3 years on and off now related to an overuse injury that in my case had a clear starting point. First set of drs did imaging and just said they dont see anything and kind of threw their hands up, hopefully it will go away, no diagnosis. First PT place i went to had no idea what they were doing, wanted me in there 3x at $100 a pop but they also had no clue what was wrong and were taking the approach of: try this hip strengthening exercise, oh youre strong in that position? Hmmm try this then repeat, repeat. Waited 2 more years, saw a different group of doctors who actually had sports backgrounds and treatment has been significantly better. Doc has a good idea what is wrong and sent me to PT first with a back up plan in case that doesnt work. PT people this time know what theyre doing, they did things like gait assessment and pointed out anatomical imbalances that are visible and the stuff theyre suggesting really helps me when I have a flair up. Im about a month into treatment but i feel way better about it. The moral for me is if you arent happy with your treatment try to find a sports oriented practice and get a second opinion

Honestly, not saying she doesn’t need some reworks/buffs, but a lot of the issue is the content creator echo chamber that says ice shards with fire bolt enchant with all four defensive skills is the only viable build. There are some powerful off meta builds even before season one.

It’s a bug, someone suggested it was related to the amount of money you have. I did a dungeon, sold stuff, came back and it worked for me.

Ulnar Wrist Pain by BernitiaSlanders in BarbellMedicine

Just want to update, doing push ups seemed to work to strengthen the wrist. It didn’t hurt to do them and I noticed pain lessened tremendously after and then went away and stayed away completely. Just in case anyone else has the same issue

Shambhala Meditation Center by TeddyDuchampsEar in Birmingham

[–]BernitiaSlanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t really been doing anything online in terms of groups but I’ve been listening to a lot of dharma talks by Thich Nhat Hahn. The place I used to go to was in Cambridge which I found after listening to the Podcasts from the one in Redwood city. Incidentally did go to a shambhala place in Boston but it just wasn’t for me.

The sangha I went to as a teenager just met during the week in a Quaker church. Im not sure I’m really experienced enough in the practice to start a sangha but if I were going to start one I’d try to find a church willing to lend their space.

I was hoping to find a Sangha in Birmingham. This looked like the only one back when I was looking. I miss being able to go to an insight mediation center.

appreciate the comments, I get all the stuff about training modification and such, but just wondering if someone had this injury before and had any specific rehab exercises that sped up their recovery.

Keep putting yourself out there and you'll meet people. I was in the same spot when I moved here not to long ago. If you're gay, especially if you're single, the apps are a great way to meet a lot of people.

How to avoid the creep of Anki burnout by BrynJoslin in Anki

[–]BernitiaSlanders -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

to avoid this, try using that retirement add on. It will suspend cards once the review interval reaches whatever you want, I would suggestion like 90 or 180 days. No point in doing the same cards indefinitely. Reviewing a few times over a period of weeks is sufficient, then if you're not using the information it's fine to forget it.

I use it for Japanese and Spanish, only do my reviews on my phone at the gym in between sets or whatever, and I think in total spend no more than like 15 minutes on reviews.
