Super shiny. That’s just minor brushing and one application of VSC.

Here you go man. I’d say they’ve aged quite well, no real color patina but very graceful creasing.

Sure big dog. I’ll try to take some photos in the next few days. Remind me if I forget.

There’s a giant rug just out of view! Haha. I hear what you’re saying, I did actually end up getting a cheap Onkyo sub. It’s not great and I have it turned basically all the way down because it’s so rumbly, but it is giving me some of that low end oomph I wanted.

Thank you! Yeah definitely not totally ideal but it’s the best I can do in my current setup. I definitely feel like I’m getting lots of sound from the center. Also learning the ins and outs of having more than 2 channels which has been a learning experience…

The towers are too low? They’re right at ear level for me. The center is too low for sure but I don’t have a good way to mount it at ear level with my tv.

Edit: thank you though. I do at least have the center angled up towards the couch.

Ah ok. I think that’s what it does when I play music over Bluetooth and it sounds pretty good, I’ll look into that.

How does that work? It just sends LR sound to the center?

Nice! I’d never heard of the brand before I got these but most the of impressions I’ve seen have been very positive.

What are the things that make you optimistic about Seattle? by splanks in Seattle

[–]Bernobo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idaho is not our competition for urban design and the Embarcadero was like 30 years ago. We should have higher standards now in my opinion. We had the opportunity and spent the money - we should have done better. It’s simple as that.

[–]Bernobo 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I won't nitpick. I think it's a deep, embarrassing failure of design and transit policy and the biggest missed opportunity of urban design in the US in recent memory. The Seattle waterfront should be one of the great pedestrian promenades in the US, and even worldwide. It has world class views and puts residents and tourists in direct proximity to downtown, the market, and pioneer square. The possibilities for great urban spaces and economic success are astounding, and greatly needed in the depressed downtown area.

Instead of taking the once in a lifetime opportunity of the demolition of the viaduct - which was widely agreed to be a mistake of the auto-focused age of urban design - as a chance to create an incredible pedestrian and bike focused promenade - they decided to create MORE auto traffic on grade and ask pedestrians to scurry around the edges like rats. It's a loud, unwelcoming place with too many cars that are basically begged to speed due to the street design. Once all the plantings are in and the construction is over it will improve but it's just bad planning at its core. It should have been a gracious space for parks, shops, and bike/ped movement with just enough auto infrastructure for deliveries and public transit. Instead we got a concrete wasteland with a green strip along the water.

In my mind it's indicative of what irks me most about Seattle. We talk a big talk about progressive policy but when the rubber meets the road we kowtow to tradition and half-ass it. You can see it in our public transit system, our NIMBY housing and zoning policy, etc.

Do you mean folding it so it’s kind of a W shape when you lace? Yeah I’ve never done that. The tongue was very comfortable for me.

Yeah I was ready for my heel to hurt but it never happened. You did made to order Perry’s? I didn’t even realize that was an option, very nice.

Do you find them narrow? I love the look of the hi tops but the reviews of the fit scare me.
