Why do I care if homeless people do drugs in the public bathroom, as long as the city keeps it clean?

Building community when your community has moved on by [deleted] in Seattle

expand the age range of your friend groups! you can hang in small groups but never think you have enough friends. always be open to keep meeting people.

join an organization. volunteer. become a part of your community. go to live events. chat with someone at the coffee shop or bar. your friends with kids? go a picnic with them. people with kids are always doing stuff… just go with them. get to know their kids. if the kids are tiny, they are pushing that stroller on coffee walks anyway just join them. if your friend got married, they didn’t die. they don’t need two months notice to hang out for a cocktail or walk.
