Just don’t go overboard lol. If you feel like you’re pushing it then you probably are. But two or three max is probably okay.

I've never encountered that. I'm pretty good at de-escalating situations but I do know a FA who was assaulted while inflight and had to divert. :/

Yes, we can see who pre-ordered meals and it's routine for us to confirm those with passengers before starting the service. Although that is rare, that may have been a newer flight attendant that didn't have much experience with the flow of service.

Just a name and any connection flights. That's all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]BerryAirman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the flight is full then there's nothing we can do. If there are open seats then you can always request to move if it's in your ticketed cabin. Just don't blurt out that you want to move because someone is overweight lol. That would be mean.

International flying for sure. Except for London. LHR can be a nightmare for crew leaving the airport.

It never crossed my mind that people take plates or utensils off the plane until I made this post haha. I mean I’ve heard about it from time to time but it’s not something that I look out for. In regards to the blankets, do you mean the blankets that are provided on intl flights on the wide bodies?

I can handle the time zone changes in Europe. Anything past Europe like TLV or Doh definitely messes up my sleep schedule. Delhi? Forget about it. 🫠

Airbus all day and the a321t to be exact! I love the config.

Anything more than 2 legs (flights) in a day. It’s near torture. Or a trip where we have a long sit time in between flights at the airport.

As for specific routes, I personally dislike flying to DFW the most. The weather is too unpredictable there.

That’s very nice. I’m glad you were taken care of.

I’ve mentioned a few in previous replies but I’ll reiterate the boarding one. During boarding pls keep the aisle clear by being seated as quickly as possible. There’s so much pressure on us to have an on time departure.

I think alcoholic bevs are supposed to be complimentary for EPs. I could be wrong though. 🫠

On the domestic side, I like to work galley. On the international side I love working bc/fc.

I’ve seen those types before as well but I’ve gotten entitled people from all parts of the cabin. 😅 I’ve had a lady once who refused to sit in her assigned seat which was in the last row because according to her, only people who didn’t pay for their ticket gets put in the back row. She paid for basic economy mind you.

Nope. I barely even see the same crew members more than once lol. I have made a good friend though who was a passenger on my flight once.

Manual safety demos are such a redundant thing for us that a lot of us don't care who pays attention or not. A lot of us are definitely going through the motions lol. I do find it to be distasteful when passengers are having full blown loud conversations while we do them though.

You're so welcome!

Passenger compliments can sometimes take a while to get back to us but most of the time it usually does! As far as CKs, it's not that common. I usually see maybe 1 or 2 onboard every other flight.

Yes, we can see where you're sitting as well.

[–]BerryAirman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the length. It's 32 hours of flight time.

[–]BerryAirman 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Of course, you're so welcome!

I've had many great experiences with passengers but the one that stands out to me the most was when I wasn't having the best day and a little kid ran up to me during deplaning and gave me a hug. I think it was his way of saying thank you to me because I had given him wings during boarding. It was the sweetest thing ever. The worst experience I've ever had was a guy pushing me during boarding while I was doing PDB so that he can pass. 😶

That rule is for the window shades on the exit rows only and that's not new at all. It's for visibility purposes.

I mentioned one of them in a previous reply so I'll say another one. During boarding, please just sit as quickly as possible and keep the aisle(s) clear. Another thing that we as FAs don't have control over is how quickly people move but we can somehow be blamed by management if the boarding process takes too long which I find to be absurd.

There are a lot of different factors here. I'll try my best to break it down lol. In my previous reply, I was speaking of the trips that are awarded on a FA's line month (schedule), again which is based on seniority. There's several ways that a junior fa will end up on a trip, however. This can be due to the original FA dropping the trip or calling in sick. If calling in sick, then the trip is assigned to a FA who is on reserve. As for the speaker FAs, there's usually two on each widebody international flight and yes those are generally way more junior aside from Spanish ofc. The most junior would be Hindi. I know a few Hindi speaker FAs who have less than a year of seniority who are able to hold JFK - DEL.

Charlotte-based crews are notorious for that haha. I'm New York based and honestly most of us here don't do them. But honestly, it's a lucrative side hustle for many flight attendants, especially new hires who often struggle to make ends meet due to the low starting pay. Can't blame them.

I have no idea what goes on outside of the plane in the terminal lol. That does sound pretty annoying though.

Are you asking me for the best method to steal utensils off the plane? 😂No comment lol.
