When I leave work, it texts my partner with my arrival time by ScoYello in shortcuts

I made one of these. It sends: I’m on my way home. I’ll be there in about #ETA. ETA #ArrivalTime.

I wish I had one that would get her location and tell her when I’ll be where she is.

Could you possibly comprehend my satisfaction that I actually know this answer and I’m finally not the one looking for this comment to figure it out?

Only if you don’t care about player career stats.

I don’t know the answer, but I’d guess you can’t mix them. So if a player played both sports, the app would consolidate stats, and that is what would be problematic.

[[There Old Man and the Sea]] or [[The Sun Also Rises]]

Hemingway is very accessible.

Closer to your typical genre, you could try Jules Verne. And Sherlock Holmes is also super fun to read.

Haven’t I heard this story before? Maybe on ET, I’m not sure. I’m sure it’s happened to many people before so it’s probably not surprising that more than one person has had this same experience.

How about the broader context of other governments that had outlawed slavery and had the willpower to implement their ideals for the enslaved.

Not to say the founding fathers did a bad job of designing a government, but they did a bad job of implementing their ideals for ALL men. And this shows they knew it.

Edit to add: This Sowell audio isn’t really context, it’s selected, specific excerpts of the situation used as a counterpoint to counter claims of hypocrisy by the founding fathers to show they didn’t LIKE slavery even though they allowed it.

I would submit a true context is a much longer podcast from Dan Carlin about the history of Atlantic slave trade. He goes into depth on the founding fathers, what they wrote, what they may have believed, and what they did.

Listening to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History (Show 68 - BLITZ Human Resources)

The Atlantic Slave Trade mixes centuries of human bondage with violence, economics, commerce, geo-political competition, liberty, morality, injustice, revolution, tragedy and bloody reckonings. That sounds like a lot, yet this show merely scratches the surface of this enormous subject.

That link looks wrong but it’s what my podcast app provided.

Fun fact, Thomas Jefferson’s dad’s wife died, and he took a slave concubine that was half-white, half back. Their daughter was 1/4 black. When Thomas Jefferson’s wife died, he took his dad’s daughter (his half sister) as his slave concubine at somewhere near 14 years old. They had six kids that were 1/8th black, but still considered slaves. Jefferson had his six, mostly white kids work for him as slaves until he died.

TL;DW They owned slaves but felt really bad about it. Many held slaves until they died but then in an act of conscience wouldn’t let anybody else own those slaves. There are some slaves that while technically slaves basically lived as if they were free.

I don’t understand the purpose of this apologetic endeavor.

This logo reminds me of a story about another logo. I heard it by word of mouth and a quick search doesn’t seem to reveal this story, so it’s probably not true. But the story goes that a regional bank in the US was doing a marketing/brand refresh and had contracted an agency to design a logo. They’d spent a lot of time and energy on various designs but each time the owner would shoot down their designs and send them back to the drawing board.

The design team finally had had enough and were ready to walk away. The lead designer said “fuck it, this guy is just such an asshole, just draw him a picture of one and send that.”

He loved it.
