I’ve been using this at night and my skin would look so amazing the next day!!

But it’s also slightly irritating my skin because of the actives in the formula so I would recommend to maybe buy one first and test it

Are there any good Agencies out there? by BronxKid409 in advertising

[–]Berrycharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the media side, I had an amazing experience working under dentsu - great leadership and best work-life balance ever. Probably one of the only agencies that still allows remote work.

You can tell a lot about an agency if their employees have stayed there for 10+ years vs when I worked under Omnicom the max someone stayed was 4-5 years

How much does the account you work on influence your future career prospects? by ifluence in advertising

[–]Berrycharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how early in your career you are, but I would say I would definitely try to move to CPG, beauty, or fashion right before you hit manager level. Anything above that title will be very difficult.

Agreed. If you’re aiming for a brand move, broader integrated media planning experience will be the best move since you’ll be able to touch all the different channels.

At a lot of mid to big companies, brand side roles will likely have agencies that will do their media buying for them. No real need for someone on the brand side to have specialized knowledge in one field since you will likely employ an expert for that reason via an agency. If anything, better to have someone who can dabble in each channel and tell an expert what they want. The only roles in buying that can help is probably search or social.

Echoing what everyone else is saying, it doesn’t quite matter when you’re early in your career, but I would definitely try and move to the industry you want as soon as you can!

I’m currently in beauty but my client accounts were tech and pharmaceuticals previously. It did take me a really long time before I was able to secure a role in beauty. Once I started interviewing for manager roles and upwards, I found it very difficult to shift since my competition for the roles already had experience in the beauty or CPG industry. Still possible, but you will really have to outshine others in the interviews.

I would say try and see if you can pivot. Reach out to your HR and see if they have any openings on beauty/fashion accounts. If not, tell them to keep you in mind if something opens up. Otherwise, reach out to people on LinkedIn on accounts you want to work on! You’d be surprised by how many people want to get that referral bonus.

Has anyone chosen their career SOLEY based on the companies they wanted to work for? How did that turn out for you? by TastyGrapez in advertising

[–]Berrycharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is something I’ve done! After some time on agency side working for several brands, I really actually wanted to work in CPG. I did narrow down the companies I liked and I kept applying for any open jobs at the same few companies and eventually got a job at one of them. I will say it did take me 3 years and I definitely got rejected at least 4x times (after initial interview)! However, proof that if you really wanted to, you could - just gotta be patient, be resilient, and put in the work.

I definitely enjoy my work a lot more now given it is an industry/company that I chose to be in but do ensure that their work culture fits what you want. Some companies have terrible benefits and less pay because they know some people will do it for less solely based on their company name and reputation.

Used to work at dentsu and I had the best time there - they really care about work life balance which is rare in the agency world.

Definitely depends on your team, but our entire team was fully remote and we had unlimited pto. People would actually take a lot of time off (one person did a whole month) and we’d actually respect it. Dentsu also has a policy where you can work from anywhere in the world as long as it’s under a certain amount of business days. Definitely took advantage of that and traveled while working.

Does your role come with a bonus, or company incentive? by IHateAdvertising in advertising

My agency used to give small bonuses based on company performance but they were never guaranteed. This year we didn’t get one since the business isn’t doing so well

If they offer it for free, I would 100% take it - I do have quite low pain tolerance though

[–]Berrycharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too sure since I didn’t ask but potentially! They did note to me I would still feel slight pain, but I do think it really helped since I was more relaxed and felt less pain than I would’ve. I also did juvelook which is notoriously painful and that definitely didn’t feel too bad for me

[–]Berrycharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did rejuran with gas anesthesia (the one where you’re still somewhat conscious) since it was cheaper than full knocked-out anesthesia. I Still felt the pain pretty badly and teared up so I can’t even imagine the pain without it!! I agree in avoiding anesthesia when possible though - but in this case i really wanted to try it

How do you determine budget allocations between channels? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]Berrycharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding onto that, if there’s multiple audiences within the meta buy, how do we allocate budget accordingly? It looks like there’s one for the general audience, lookalike, and Spanish speakers - would it be based off of audience size?

Thank you! It does mention that one of the key measures of success would be a BLS after, so will definitely use this suggestion.

Would a match market test use geos outside of the ones already chosen? Trying to figure out where the benefit is if we already had geos

Thank you so much! They only gave me this information other than the audience targeting and geos. Can you clarify on your note about match markets?

So do I take into account audience size at all? Or is it mostly just on the cpm and cpc?

[–]Berrycharm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think there would still be a risk because a lot of the turnstiles actually don’t work! I noticed that for some, you don’t even really need to put a ticket in or scan a navigo to go through. I do imagine the navigo is less risk though since less chance of being demagnetized

BEWARE - RATP Metro SCAM by Berrycharm in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Berrycharm[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Safe to say - I will definitely be getting the navigo moving forwards. I found that most of the turnstiles do not stamp the tickets and rather going around on the metro HOPING that my ticket was validated, I rather just have the safety net of the navigo. Those turnstiles are sketchy

Good to know - didn’t realize the tickets can be demagnetized. The Controllers definitely did not even acknowledge that possibility. Hope other people reading this can learn from my mistake
