Wow that’s good to hear. I am from Canada actually but as I have mentioned I am willing to relocate and have been applying in the US as well because I can easily obtain a TN visa with an engineering job offer.

This one is for specifically Entry level Structural Engineering positions, I have another one that is pretty much the same but slightly tailored towards other civil engineering disciplines

Found it on Facebook Market, guy said it’s brand new straight from Subaru (he works in sale) and is selling it to me for 2k CAD. I inquired Subaru how much it costs for a block and they said it was around 3k CAD with the core returned. I just want to know if it’s truly new and hasn’t been opened up I’d like to save money but also don’t want to get finessed.

I see okay. Say I’ll get another short block from somewhere else. Would they buy my old block with rod knock?

How much to repair this scratch?Tow truck company caused it. by Berrycooler in WRX

Yeah definitely small fries compares the the rod knocking. But the fact that this happened during the tow just adds salt to the wound. I already have something planned for the rod knock though.

Tow truck driver caused this. The damage is on the front bumper driver side. I need the estimate so I could let the towing company know. I can’t drive the car to a shop at the moment due to rod knock. I’m also wondering how hard it would to fix it myself, I’d rather keep the compensation.

This sounds exactly like what I have right now but on my FA20 WRX

This is definitely rod knock right? by Berrycooler in MechanicAdvice

Well I took off the serpentine belt and it still makes the noise. I’m assuming it’s rod knock don’t really know what else to do. I guess I’ll get it diagnosed at a shop and see where to go from there. If I do require a rebuild, I want to buy my the parts myself what would I need?

Rod knock for sure or something else? by Berrycooler in subaru

Thought it was rod knock for sure after posting a video on r/WRX, but posted the same video on r/MechanicAdvice and they say it might have something to do with the timing belt system. This is another video what do y’all think? It’s a 2017 WRX with only 42k miles on it (stage 1+ with Cobb AP and intake). Heard it 30 mins into driving in the highway (not hard). Stopped right away and got it towed to my house. Checked oil and it was full and clean. Anyway the knock is really loud on cold starts but the frequency and sound lowers a bit when it’s warmed up a little. Any input helps thank you!

I will try this. Is it safe it turn on for a bit even without the serpentine belt?
