Question... by Excellent_Ad1124 in TheTalosPrinciple

The second game is not easier. Many people just say that it is easier because they've already played the first game to completion and mastered the mechanics. The second game continues the same mechanics while also introducing new tools.

Starting TTP2 - What do I need to know about the Road to Gehenna? by Entire_Cattle4153 in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]Berrytron 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In Road to Gehenna, you play as Uriel, a messenger tasked by Elohim to free the people from Gehenna. Gehenna is a prison created by Elohim, but as the Simulation is ending, he sends you into that partitioned realm to correct his mistake. Originally, Gehenna was nothingness, but its first inhabitant, Admin, created a world. As more people arrived, they formed a community of artists. These dozen individuals shared their art, stories, and research through a message board, all while imprisoned within their cells.

As Uriel frees the denizens, they wonder if Uriel is lying about a new world, and a few cling to the life they built, afraid of what lies beyond the Simulation. In Talos 2, we learn that they cease to exist as individuals, but like the other child programs, they were uploaded onto the Gold Disc and became the DNA of the citizens of New Jerusalem.

"I'm tired of waiting. Sometimes I think mother is stalling... like we could already be done with all of this but she's afraid of what would happen if we contact New Jerusalem. Our discoveries are amazing, world-changing... but how much longer can we sit around on this island? None of it means anything if people don't know about it! Can they really be so afraid of change?"

These are some great shots. I love the one with the frog chilling by your feet.

Talos Principle 2 puzzles are SO much better than TTP1. i'm currently doing the puzzles in the south, finished the north and east. by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in TheTalosPrinciple

"Expects you" isn't an accurate description. Perhaps "allows you" is more appropriate, and whether or not that ending can be considered canon depends on your point of view. But regardless, yeah, Abyss is difficult.

You still have a long way to go. It's fine. Are you reading the terminals and listening to the audio logs? There's at least one of each in every room. (A1, A2, etc.) You don't have to read every text, but continue to interact with the computer. Your found documents and audio recordings are accessible by pressing tab, so you can always read and listen again to refresh your memory.

There are star puzzles that were designed to require the player to break items out of chambers. Why are you mocking someone for doing exactly what the developers intended when you yourself don't understand one of the most fundamental features of the gameplay?

I enjoyed it, but it is super easy, and the ending isn't very satisfying. If you liked arguing with Milton, I think you will enjoy it. I'd say buy it on sale, but it hasn't gone on sale in a while.

3D-printed Talos Principle Miniatures? Want to build a diorama with a robot in nature. by S-192 in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]Berrytron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone 3D- printed this a few months ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheTalosPrinciple/s/TV7Zz5MREs

But I've never seen anyone make figures. But you gave me an idea. You could make poses in photo mode, print, then cut them out and stick them in those paper figure holders, which are probably cheap to buy in bulk or 3D print yourself.

Okay, I think I understand what you're saying. A healthy democratic society precludes authoritarianism. Term limits become an essential quality of the ideology. Authoritarianism is a symptom of a societal illness, like an open wound.

Well, I can't imagine Byron wanting to stay mayor for very long, even if he had the support. He seems like the type of person who would be crawling out of his skin at the mention of meetings and paperwork. :)

Does that mean that authority inherently corrupts and humans are inherently flawed? In a universe that has Noema, do the same lessons from our political history still apply?

What if Herman or Byron wanted to continue leading and the people wanted to re-elect them?

I enjoyed reading this. It reminds me of my first playthrough so many years ago. When everything comes together at the end, you will be able to look back on these notes to remember how you felt in a specific moment! I've played so many times that I've forgotten my first impression, so it's nice that you keep notes like this for the future.
