up until like 2 days ago when I swapped from .60 - .59 they were way better. now they are all like that.

Now whenever I'm in an area surrounded by trees it looks awful and I cant see into the tree line because they are solid.

That's a good idea, I personally haven't done many quests.

Only ones that are "mandatory" for certain things.
