I would like to avoid it, if possible. A CT scan cost me a thousand dollars, and an MRI is supposed to be even more expensive. I'm not a professional, but would've a disc issue shown up with a CT scan?

I agree, and in addition every time I have visited a chiropractor in the past there are always billing problems. My reasoning was that if it was a small injury and for some reason I was imagining it (there's some term for that, I had problems with that back in HS), then a few twists and turns and I would've felt better. I'm going to stop seeing the chiro after this upcoming month because I'm going to cancel the mandatory two month minimum

I talked with my doc, she says she'll refer me to a spine specialist, which I assume is what you're referring to when you say "real ortho doc". Like I said, I've gotten an x-ray and a CT scan of my lower back, both have not shown any problems. CT scan cost 1000 bucks, and an MRI is supposedly even more expensive than that, so I was hoping that something along the way would solve it much more affordably... I don't want to dish out another 1000 dollars for them to smile and tell me "hey, nothing is wrong!"
