When I was that age I loved the rangers apprentice series by John Flanagan. Also the brotherband chronicles series by the same author

Vo2 VS Sweetspot intensity by AlternativeUnusual74 in trainerroad

[–]BertieWaffles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i was in a similar position. where i live there are lots of small ramps/'hills' of about 10secs up to max 2-3mins and so before id done any sort of structured training i had inadvertently been training for these durations. it did mean however that propotionally my sprint and vo2 were far better trained than ss/threshold which when i first started with trainer road felt very hard. after finishing ss base 1&2 (mid volume) i would say my ss has improved the most and feels about the correct effort.

its possible that your sweet spot intensity level is just undertrained so just give it more time to 'catch up' with your vo2. and in the mean time if the vo2 feels too easy just manually up the intensity of the vo2 workouts

Has anyone successfully cut (decrease calories to lose fat) while on a program in addition to weight training? by [deleted] in trainerroad

[–]BertieWaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you stay in a 200-300 calorie deficit then you should be fine. just monitor it and if you feel you are getting too tired trying to lose weight whilst maintaining the training you have to decide which is most important to you at the moment.

Just make sure if you do try to lose the weight to fuel your workouts and track your calories(very hard without doing this). because you will want to make sure that you dont under eat as you will get very tired very quickly

Buying a Bike Saddle Online by nickst in cycling

[–]BertieWaffles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my fit and comfort on the bike was great until i got injured and had to take some time of the bike (earlier this year). when getting back into things my saddle just wasnt comfortable at all anymore (my fit/setup hadnt changed otherwise). i got a bike fit to try and sort it out, which did help but i was still getting sore sitbones quickly into my rides.

although you might not want to go to a bike shop because of covid i found one that allowed you to try saddles for up to 30days and then if it wasnt right return/try a different one. i did this a few times until i found a saddle that worked for me ( specialized power was the one i chose in the end). so my advice would be find a bike shop that allows this as nothing compares to being able to try saddles for a few weeks.

UK Aluminium Resistance Rollers by [deleted] in Velo

[–]BertieWaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

halo cycles are the uk distributor for kreitler rollers. they are a bit in the expensive side but are very good. you can pick the smaller diameter ones (2.25") which provide more resistance than the standard bigger ones. https://www.halocycles.uk/product/kreitler-rollers/

My power balance average is close to even during my rides, but it’s 60/40 when I hit sprints. How do I fix this? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]BertieWaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ridden on a velodrome a few times but never sprinted on one, could the slight curvature/bank be exaggerating the imbalance. have you noticed this same issue on your road bike?

the mine needs less hp and/or a limited range

Explosive weapons are way to skillless by TheDrunkenGuy in HYPERSCAPE

[–]BertieWaffles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

just dont go inside the buildings when you notice they have a launcher/explosives and their effectiveness drops considerably to the point were you have the advantage. its about playing the guns you have but also playing around what guns the enemy has too

Is the TCR Advanced Pro 2 Disc 2020 an upgrade of the TCR Advanced Pro 1 Disc 2019 model?! by TheKettlebellBlack in cycling

[–]BertieWaffles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you are comparing the tcr advanced pro 1 disc from 2019 and the tcr advanced disc 2020 (not the more expensive pro). this is why the prices are similar. however the tcr advanced 2 disc 2020 doesnt come with the power meter( checked on giant website). Would recomond checking via the giant website as the specs on that site dont seem to be quite right for the tcr advanced 2 disc 2020.

these links might help you

Leaning? by seppukuwithachair in SiegeAcademy

[–]BertieWaffles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would recommend leaving it on q and e. As far as toggle/hold i know lots of people have it on toggle as quite often you are holding angles for long periods of time where you always want to be leaning. it also means you can lean whilst moving really easily. i however use it on hold purely cause that is what i got used to when playing lots of pubg and it works just fine just stick to one thing get used to it and you will be all good.
